Got a 997TT. Time to mod...
Hi all. I bought yesterday a 07 997TT. Blk with full red interior, tiptronic, chrono, sunroof, xenon, pasm, dim mirrors, nav, bose, heated seats with memory, parking sensors. I still don´t have pics because i left it at the dealer to make the first service (30.000km) and to fix some failures. The car has a malfunction tire pressure, sunroof doesn't open backwards, bug noise from the chrono gauge and the two radiators are leaking. It also needs a new set of tires and a new front spoiler.
Now the questions:
Is there any common problems?
What is the best combo (power wise): headers+sport muffler or 200cells+muffler bypass?
Does the RSS plenum with intercooler silicone pipes worth the money(they claim ~40hp)?
I want to ged rid of the 4x4 look without disable the pasm function. Is there any lowering springs? Where do you set the height with the bilstein damptronic. Is there any difference between confort and clubsport beside the springs rate?

May I ask where you found the RSS with 997tt intercooler pipes for sale?how much the intercooler pipes cost? Thanks.
Welcome and congrats. To answer your questions:
1)no common problems
2)200 cell cats + muffler bypass will produce the most power
3)worth the money? $1k mod on this car is cheap - almost unheard of. Not going to get 40 hp though
4)Eibach/Techart, Eibach/GMG, H&R, H&R/Champion all make PASM compatible springs which work great. Damptronic coilovers is the other PASM compatible option which is very popular.

You should wait a bit for coilovers imo, cargraphic is about to release one with airlifting kit, if ground clearance is an important issue for you. I'll retrofit mine.
IPD plenum is worth money, not going to have 40 hp but significantly reduces turbo lag and add some power (claimed to be around 10hp).
I do not think there is too much difference (powerwise) between the exhaust systems, but you can go straight pipes all the way if you want best. But it's too loud
I have 100 cell with race muffler, maybe would have catless. But not straight pipes.

Have you considered a reflash?
The EVO Stage III 600hp kit (and S4 61) (www.sharkwerks.com) is very popular.

, agreed though, pics are necessary (when you actually get your new toy, of course)

I'd probably put a few hundred miles on the car first. Figure out what you like, dislike and/or want to change/improve from there. Ger a 'personal' baseline of sorts? Otherwise if you throw a bunch of mods at it you won't necessarily know/appreciate the changes as much?

First, thank you all for your kind words.
You can get the plenum from almost every sponser in this forum. I saw the silicone intercooler pipes in FVD and EVOMS website.
Thanks for your input. If you don't mind i have a few questions for you:
2)Will this set throw the engine light? How about the sound level?
3)$1k mod is cheap for a $200k (sale price in my country), but for me $1k for a hidden stuff that makes less than ~20hp in a 480hp car is a bit pricey.
4)Do they all lower the same? I'm looking for a 30mm drop and still mantain the ride confort.
I will pick the car today and i will take some pics this weekend.
1. You are nuts. $8k for a suspension is not for me. I willing to spend the max of $4K in a full suspension set (coils, sways and maybe top struts).
2. Did you notice the difference? Is there any performance box proofs?
3. I don't want to run catless and mufflers bypass because it will avoid warranty, it will throw the engine light and it would sound like sh$t in the trafic jam. Why do you prefer to run catless instead of mufflers bypass?
Yes, but it still has a year of warranty and i don't want to lose it.
The reason of this is because i want to make my own stages. Search what is best and worthless and start by improving the engine components (exhaust, intake, pipes, intercooler) and only then play with the boost levels.
I bought it directly to a lease company for half of the price when new. The crisis has this sort of deals...

2. There are certainly less lag especially in lower RPM's. I don't remember what was the effect of IPD plenum to the PBox results alone, but I bet you can feel it.
3. I thought you would get the ECU tuning eventually somehow. But if you're not, you need to have something like 200cell cat exhaust system to avoid CEL's. Well, I've heard both in person and straight pipes really does sound like **** in traffic jam, catless is more acceptable. But I (and most people) love my car's sound more than both
Get yourself a good exhaust from one of our board sponsors with the IPD Plenum and you should be good on power for awhile until you get used to the car.
ECU flash when you feel like the car isn't fast enough to you anymore. Trust me that day will come.
Suspension really depends on what you are looking for.
1.Just an agressive lower stance with some balance, you should go with either the GMG or Champion set up of their springs and sways.
2.If you want the above with some added performance for occasional track use, then PSS10 or KW V3's with some H&R or RSS sways the way to go.
3. You want serious adjustablility and serious performance, Motons, JRZ, or Ohlins is your ticket. Keep in mind that this route will cost you at least $5000 + in parts alone and you will need a really good shop to set it up properly.
Hope that helps....
You should really talk to some of these sponsors like Stuttgart, IA, Sharkwerks, and Vivid and get their advice as well. Good luck and have fun with your mods.

Congrats!
Sharky and gotboost are both right imo. Feel the car and what you want to improve because most of these upgrades are all good and work well. Some would even say they are "must haves".
-Do you want some hp and sound?
-Some hp and spool up?
-Supporting mods for future needs? (you will have them)
-Cheap first step?
-Something about the car bother you like the fact it is 4x4 looking like you said or that it sounds like an acura?
As for the common issues no real huge red flags yet just scattered stuff. Just have your dealer take a look. FYI I have seen many 996TT front intercoolers leak a bit, some for years.
Lastly imo, We all have seen good results from the RSS/IPD plenum. The hoses are good too but are you referring to the new part they have. I have spied an aluminum y-pipe when I was there last week and it looks nice! The combo should net some good results and support high hp.
