I was wondering how they compare, I've heard of EVO owners talking about killing 997 tt on street racing.
I have a challenge pending with an EVO9 MR hardly modded, they say its faster than the 997tt all the way,
They also state that it runs more than 300kmh in no time, the owner of this car uses it as a daily car.
My car has ECU/exhaust/filter only
What do you think shall i give it a try?

Hmmm, have a go see what happens. All I can say is do not race from a dig. Try from a roll on, traction off, sport button on and make sure your in the right rpm. Oh and if you have the horn floor it while you hit the 3rd honk at the same time. Mili seconds at the start always help. Good luck.
Well.
I just raced with a HKS570 + cobb claimed 600 crank hp R35 this weekend for a 0-1000m drag race with my EVT700.
I found that from 0-120mph,my extra 100hp is useless.it keep pulling with me until I finish the 3rd gear.It even faster before 2nd gear due that damn fast DSG box vs my hand....Finally I won by approx 1.5 bodies on front of it at fninsh about 150mph...
EVO is a lighter car compare with 997tt.Weight coould fix the power. So if it really has 500awhp.Even you have an EVT700,I still don't think you could win it easliy.Especially if you can't race over 150mph.

They can be modded to make big hp and he may well smoke you. But honestly, who cares?
Presumably we all could have opted to buy an Evo (or 5) if we wanted but opted against it for a panopoly of reasons, no?

have to agree here, i have heard of civics making 800bhp, doesn't really matter, at the end of the day you have TT.
It's not really a win situation for you. so big deal if you won, right? I mean you are not going to go to every friend and forum and bragged you beat a evo. Are you? Well if he wins, that's what he will want to do... Like brownan said we all could have bought a evo and modded to hell but we didn't..
I owned an IX MR prior to my 997TT, I loved that car. It handled fantastic and felt more planted than my TT w/ suspension mods especially on bumpy bends.
The thing is with Evos is that a relatively small investment in mods will net you 400 awhp on up. A tuned stock turbo Evo with all the bolt ons is more 996TT than 997TT with an edge to the 996 still. But once that turbo is replaced they can be monsters.
I would be surprised if he is running 500+ hp on that 6 speed transmission, the 5 speed is much stronger in the non MR.
