09 CTS-V:First drive 6 speed.

Was able to drive another second gen V today. I've already driven the automatic version,...which I've gotta tell you, is phenonimal. Truly an awesome auto configuration. And i'm not at all an auto guy. Great car.

So today, I drove the 6 speed. What a sweet,...smooth and easy car to drive. It's a friends, so I was able to thrash it,....I powershifted 1st-4th....got to 120mph with ease,..then ran out of room even quicker.

Super smooth car. ALmost too easy. Car DOES NEED A TUNE,...to remove torque management. I did a standing start, no traction on,...and the car rolled out super smoooth,...with little wheel spin. I didn't dump the clutch but,...from a mild clutch slip,...it rolled out with ease. I could only imagine how many people are gonna get walked by these cars from stop light to stop light,....as again, it's really easy to pilot.

The RPM/tach was really easy to read,...especially since multiple red LED's follow the needle as it rises...... then FLASHES when it wants you to shift.

Really cool *** car. Feels great but,...if it had the torque management removed,...it would be mind boggling. Wish I could have did a real highway blast but,...time,...didn't permit.

Anyone that CAN buy one of these but, hasn't considered one,...for whatever reason,.....i'm telling you,...this cars ths ****. The BEE's KNEES.

Peace.

Agree, drove neighbors auto 09'.. incredible car, still has that raw brutal feel, but so refined, the quality etc is excellent. But the way it drove was perfect for a sports sedan imo. Said it before, you couldn't give me an e63 or M5 over it. Plus it will be so easy to play/tune with, simple mods even just an intake show great gains already on that engine. Got my eye on a 6 speed manual for next car right now.

What kind of pricing is out there on these cars? Above MSRP, MSRP or below MSRP?

Werd. This was my first 6 speed that I drove,...which does feel different then the auto. I dunno,..maybe I was paying more attention to the manual but,..I noticed more things. Maybe I was more relaxed, I dunno. Just very impressed with both cars,..the stick, and the auto. Which I hate auto's but,...there's something about this thing. Would love to own one myself. Hope you pick one up. Great cars.

However,..now that I am looking at it, on my lift,..the drivers side exhaust has a factory smash in it,...like the 4th gen camaros once had(ls1 era). Sure this car picks up all kinds of power with mild mods. For example...lol,....look at the camshaft spec's.... Smallest cam i've EVER seen in an LSX motor. There's 80rwhp right there.

Good question man. I wass say 58,000 is msrp but,...I have no idea what they go for. We have two on the lot. Both black. Both auto,...one new, one used but,... I don't deal with sales at all.

And the Recaro seats are a must, otherwise you get the normal CTS seats which are good, but the Recaro's have to be about the best seat ever in a factory car, comfortable yet holds you right in place. I can think of a number of sports cars that don't have seats this good.

Let me know J,...would love to help.

Truly wicked cars. I've still got this slate blue one here..sitting in my stall. Just doing product updates to it. Mainly new programs for various modules.

Oh yes i know that product update recall quite well. 18 pages of enhancements. I've worked on a few of the 2nd gens as well and yes they are a blast. Haven't had one with a six speed yet.
Off topic to thread, but is your dealer staying busy any?

Yeah man, that was my first product enhancement. Plus a couple of other bulletins to take care of..reflash this,..reflash that. It was my first six speed as well.

Our dealership,..up until two weeks ago was slow. These past two weeks, as well as this week it looks like,...we've been busy. Usually we don't have a day carry over. Last week or soo,...every night there is work left over for the next day. Now,..I will tell you all of the work has sucked. I've had noting but problem cars...etc but,... it's work, so I won't complain too much. Just happy we have it. We are one of the dealers that are going to STAY,...so i'm really happy about that.

How about you,...how are you guys doing?
