Viper business no longer for sale and will live on
Ive said it once and I will say it again, Marchionne is the best CEO this Company has had since Iacocca. The only reason it was for sale in the first place was so Cerberus could make a quick buck...
A couple more years out of the '08+ cars will be great.
They way they won't hold their value as much, so I can get one of those instead of a Gen3 LOL

Actually 3gen's are better tuneable viper.
Some things are worth more than the resale valve. Not like its a highly produced car anyways. Just in 2006 alone only 2500 Vipers were produced in this world as a example. Porsche 997's and Vette's cant say that.
Not really, it's just that people haven't spent the coin to do the research yet. There are a couple TT Gen 4s out there that I've heard of. But a Gen 3 with an exisiting F/I kit is cheaper.
The Gen4 is a better car hands down. 600 to the tire with bolt ons. I'd be happy with that as a weekend driver. Low 500s stock is still plenty to get you in trouble on the street.

The Viper has had a great great run, my dad is the original owner of his '99 blk gts and has an '09 ACR on the way.....
We both wish the car would go the same direction as the Ford GT and ride into the Sunset. 17 yrs and 4 generations under its belt, an a true sports car legend.
*Not to mention that until the ACRs, was not a big fan of Gen 3 body.

Where are you coming from when to say this? IS that a personal thought or a fact? I have personally have pulled 2nd and 3rd,4gen Viper engines to modding them. I have gained 600hp simple mods on the 3rd gen. I just wanting to know if you know something new that I dont. Actually 2nd-gen are the really the best bang for the buck due to the cost of the car buy-in. I have seen 2nd gens put down 600whp after lowering comp with just forged piston and then bolt-ons. You FI any Viper they all can see 750whp before building lower end. Just go to the ViperClub.com that forum will show you whats out there.

Immanual the Gen IV's put down about 545rwhp on Dynojets and I believe there are two so far that have hit over 600rwhp with full exhaust and tune. Ill see if I can find the thread on VF or where ever I read it. They are nasty. Remember the Mopar exhaust kit that was going to come out with the Viper which had it rated to 575 crank hp. Remember these cars are way underrated at 600 crank hp from the factory. They put down around 545rwhp bone stock as evidenced by a few dynos so they are making mor than 600crank imho. Probably closer to the ZR1's power figures crank.'
Heres one thread on the VCA site of a guys bonestock dyno of 548rwhp and further down a guy with just headers and home made exhaust dynoing at 585rwhp. Had he had a DC performance tune he would have been over 600 hp at the tire. Every dyno reads different so I guess it could be up for debate.
Heres a vid of the 585rwhp run.
