Change the Rear sway bar only on our 997TT?
Hi guys,
Got a question again for you guys.
Has any of you have any experience/suggestion on JUST changing the rear sway bar to some aftermarket (stiffer) ones on our 997TT?
Since the nature of our cars like to understeer, I have heard people/forum members suggest when we change the F&R adjustable sways, set the front to the softest, and rear the hardest.
What about just change the rear sway and set to the hardest?
Please chime in if you have any experience or feedback.!
Thank you guys so much in advance.
Cheers,

AWD cars have understeer and tend to push. Putting a bigger rear sway bar and leaving the stock front one on will give you more over steer and have the car behave more like a RWD car but with the AWD, the front will pull you through the turns. For street cars, I like this setup.

My car still feels very planted with AWD . When the car was stock --I felt it was awful . It felt floaty and soft and no real road feel. My first suspension was just the Techart springs .
The Gt2 sway was a nice improvement but I also had it installed with Bilsteins so the overall drive changed dramatically . The only time my tail wagged was when it was time when the rear tires needed to be replaced .
In fact at low end throttle speed my PDK 997S feels more nimble than the AWD Turbo .. no matter what i do to the suspension. By far the Turbo is faster , more comfortable, and in many ways more fun to drive for me but in a tight corner I'd take the normally aspirated two wheel drive .

I would recommend a set of adjustable sway bars instead of just one stiffer rear sway bar simply because the car's handling characteristics depend on so many variables.
If you plan to have more suspension upgrades in the future, a set of adjustable sway bars will be much more useful, and you will be able to change that depend on your driving style, track layout, tires, alignment setting, ride height setting, and so on.
There are all kind of understeers and oversteers, and you want to be able to fine tune your suspension as a whole to get the most of it. Making your rear end too stiff compared to the front could get you snap oversteer if you are not careful.
Adjustable sways are not that much more expensive after all.

Many Many THANKS to all ppl who chimed in and suggested.
I am actually already running on a set of RSS F&R sways, but still think the car little understeer (*RSS makes great products, don't get me wrong, its just my demand on driving since I always wanna make my turbo turn more like a GT3, LOL)
I will try to change back the front sway to OEM and see what's the difference. Will keep you guys updated!
again. Thx a million, everyone.
