GT3 or TT

I have an 08TT and am considering a switch to a GT3. Drove an 08 GT3 and felt it was a little weak. Has anyone driven the new GT3 RS and compared it to the earlier GT3? How hard is the ride? Would it be too much for a DD? How does it compare to the TT. My TT has GIAC upgrade, AWE exhaust and Bilsteins so that needs to be considered.

Need more data. How are you going to be using it? Track, daily, weekend runs, etc.? If you're looking for a torquey low end-pull, stay w/ the 997.1 TT or get a 997.2 TT. GT3s are NA screamers that you won't enjoy until you get into the high rev range. As far as whether you can DD them, try out the 997.2 GT3, from what I've heard it's much more streetable than the Mark I. Definitely do a forum search, this is one of the most commonly asked questions on this board, tons of great discussions to read through.

if you're not going to track the car, i'd definately just stay with your current 997.1tt or (as stated earlier) get a new 997.2tt.

I use my GT3RS as a daily driver, but you have to drive it fast on the streets (keeping the rpm's high) - danger of speeding tickets. On the other hand, my modified 997.1 is a great on long trips (comfort) and on the street because of the low end torque. Either can be made into great track cars.

I would much prefer a TT for the power and add GT3 body parts for the sleek look. I wouldn't try and make the car be a gt3, just some of the parts.

I had a 997.1 GT3. It was/is a great car. Having said that, I am now looking at a Turbo but with the factory aerokit. I like the looks of the GT3 body kit but want the power the turbo offers. For what it's worth, my GT3 didn't feel weak to me and had a great sound to it. But you always want more power--thus my thinking about the Turbo.

So why don't you consider a 997 GT2?

I would consider a GT2. I do like that it is a rear wheel drive car. However, I also like the new technologies available in the new TT--torque vectoring, dynamic engine mounts, and the tweaks they've made on the suspension. Both are great cars. It is tough choice for the one having to make it.
