Isnt the Mk2 a Turbo S? The rear spoiler looks like it. In that case it has 30hp more.

 

It's a regular turbo.

But in either case, to my knowledge at least, there is zero difference between the Turbo S rear spoiler and the Turbo rear spoiler.

The only aesthetic difference is in the badge, nothing else.

Of course, from an aesthetic point of view, the Turbo S comes with ceramic brakes (yellow) and center lock wheels as standard, but both can be optioned on the Turbo (alternatively, the S can also be optioned with the regular steel brakes and Turbo II wheels) so, when optioned alike, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference by looking at the two cars except by the badge.

 

Oops Im sorry lol I just googled it, twice Ive seen new Turbo S's and they've both had the Aero kit wing.

 

I'd say that result was a combination of the PDK being faster, and the 997TT.1 driver needing some shifting lessons.

 

A few 10ths of a second makes a big visual difference...

Wonder why the PDK pulls away in higher gears where manuel shift is more (seemingly) efficient?

 

Agreed - you can barely hear the shifts but they seemed somewhat...er...slow.

 

what kind of mods would be needed on that 997.1 6speed to keep up with the pdk? e.g. exhaust and tune alone or needs upgraded turbos and i/cs?

Me too. If anyone has a PDK in S. Ca, I won't mind a fun run with my tip.

 

PDK shifts faster, has closer ratios, new turbo has more power.

 

I thought 997.1 Turbo put down power in the range of 420-440whp while the 997.2 PDK Turbo is in the 480-490whp range. Add to that the quick shifts of the PDK and that video makes more sense.
