how much faster can the turbo get?

in the lastest road and track, there was a 4 car comparo including 997tt s coupe, vantage v12, r8 v10, and z06 with zr1 package. 997 tt s did 0-60 in 2.6, 0-100 in 6.2, and 1/4 mi in 11.7 (by far the fastest of the group). it was 2nd to the z06 in lap time at laguna seca.
how much faster in straight line performance can the next generation 998/991 turbo be? the 997 tt s continues to impress!

Porsche has been building race cars for years; they by now should feel obligated to having the best sports cars out. 10.7 is a quick quarter mile, but with some mods they really start to scare ya how fast a TT can be.

Funny to have the current Turbo S faster in the quarter mile than an Enzo Ferrari. Times sure fly quickly.

If it does 0-60 in 2.6, seems like it can get about 2.5 seconds faster. At least, I bet that the way their engineers are looking at it.

This is exactly why I'm waiting for the next gen turbo to come out before o buy one. In the meantime I'm saving for the deposit on some 998 911/S/4/4S. Won't know until I get there.

Does anyone want to guess the power outputs for the models?

911/4 355-360 BHP
911S/4S 395-405 BHP
TT 530-550 BHP straight out of the gate.

How fast is fast enough? I already feel like it's hard to use the HP/TQ in my 996 X50. But that isn't going to stop me from swapping the exhaust and tuning it once my extended warranty is up.

We are facing the laws of diminishing returns here. There's only so much power you can put to the pavement before you're going to need rear tires so wide they practically meet in the middle of the car, or rear fenders so wide you'll need a "wide load" sign to drive on public roads.

One thing is for sure, the next one will equal the Veyron.
