New guy, TVS GTO

How's it going?

Just doing the whole new member thread thing. I'm a guy, I have cars. Enough about me and on to them!

2006 GTO, black, mine
TVS 2300 kit on 6lbs
Pedders Track 1 package
Hendrix Engineering 1000hp 8.8 rear mounting kit
03/04 8.8 with 3.73's
Monster level 3 clutch
Keyed crank pulley
Lineloc/2 step/WOT shift
MSD plug wires
Billet products short shifter
Tick master cylinder
drilled/slotted rotors
BMR drag bags
Poly mounts...everywhere
Pacesetter LT's and catless mids to Borla cat-back
255lph boost-a-pumped fuel pump
LPP CAI

2001 Mustang GT, black, wifes
BBK CAI
SLP loud mouth cat back
no cats
steeda tri-axe short shifter
lineloc
75mm TB (it doesnt need this, but I got it for free. whatever.)

2003 VW GTI VR6, black, mine
random CAI
pipe/tip welded up in place of muffler

That would be the gist of things. I switch between DDing the GTO and GTI. I'm in NC, but I go to Myrtle Beach about once a month, and VA/MD/PA every few months to visit family.

Prior cars:
05 GTI 1.8t- APR stage 3+, 6 speed built by Eurospec, blah blah blah
03 350z- CAI, exhaust, plenum spacer, short shifter, powerslot brakes
84 Z28- 383 stroker, shift kit, stall, never finished, parted out

Thanks. The VW isn't a terrible drive... good thing too, I managed to snap one of the brackets holding the 8.8 in on Friday at the track. Hendrix can't send a new one out until the end of the week so VW up! Probably going to do the rear rebuild too, looks like the passenger side wheel didn't always want to spin on the burnouts.

I've been there and done that with GTOs. I had the 1st 10 sec 6 speed GTO and held the stock bottom end record for an LS1 GTO for years.

This was my baby on blower only right off the trailer:

That's awesome. I'm sure one day I'll say been there done that, but not yet. I'm still having fun with it. I'm going back to 3.27's this weekend and redoing the clutch packs while I'm in there, and I'm ordering a ETMC Stage 2 blower cam as soon as these wheels/tires I have sell.

3.27s or 3.31s will be much better with the 2300's torque!

Oh yes, I agree. That's what was in it when the 8.8 initially went in. The 3.73's felt good, but launches became very inconsistant and I really had to work for it.

For me and this car-
3.27's = low 11's all day (best 11.13, 1.57 60ft)
3.73's = mid/high 11's IF I get a decent launch. (best 11.48, 1.68 60ft)

It's ok though, I'm just going to put the 3.73's in the Mustang! It needs some love anyway.
