Vivid DRL installation issue
Vivid DRL installation issue
Finally took the time to try and install these bad boys only to discover that the harness on the passengers side is different from the one on the drivers side. Instead of a 6-wire harness it's got 14 wires. Am I the only one with this variation????? Here are some pics:

Here's a close-up showing more than 6 wires!!!:

And here it shows the harness going down the side where the side-marker wiring comes from (just like on the driver's side, but the driver's side has a 6-wire connector as expected).

This is a major bummer. After all the time spent waiting only to be defeated by this.
Vivid is closed today so I'll try again tomorrow but I think I may as well re-assemble the car b/c I can't see how there will be an easy solution. Has no-one else encountered this (of the 40 or so people who bought a set)????

I haven't installed these, but I have removed the bumper many times. I hope I can help.
I think the harness you are looking at is NOT the harness you are supposed to plug into. The 16 wire harness is something you have to disconnect to get your bumper off, but you plug into a harness behind the bumper itself.
The 16 wire harness is located on the passenger side, and needs to be disconnected to pull the front bumper.

Again, the actual harness you want to plug into can really only be accessed once the entire bumper is off. It is located under the headlight washer pump. I would just disconnect the harness that you have encountered, pull the bumper, and you'll find the smaller LED harness inside the front of the bumper.

The Bogg : I'm not sure why you say it is a major bummer, your are is absolutely normal, I had two different connectors like you but that's not a problem at all. You simply disconnect both of them and remove the bumper afterwards.
The 2 connectors have nothing to do with the new DRLs...

THANK YOU Bob!!!! I had debated just taking the rest of the bumper off but I had looked repeatedly at the Agency Power pictures and it sure looked like it was just a 6-wire connector instead of the multi-wire one.
Carlito, I had assumed that the 2 connectors WERE the ones that plugged into the DRL connector, glad I was wrong, lol.
Now I'm even more glad that I didn't just give up and put everything back on. Tomorrow is a holiday Monday and I'll get right back at it.
Thanks all, the moral support is appreciated!
