when is a good time to sell our 997 TTs?
before the 991 TT comes out?
will the 991 TT be light years ahead of the 997 TT?
a friend of mine, a circuit racer, drove a 997TTS, and reported that the turbo S front end was loosing contact with the pavement. he tested on a F1 circuit during a Porsche Club Day. He said the F430 stayed more planted on the same curves, F430's front end was not jumping off the ground.
Anyway this is one negative feedback. I still like my 997 TT.
But when is a good time to sell our beloved 997 TTs and what would you like to buy after 997 TTs?
note that 996 TT was perfect before the 997 TT came out....

It's never a good time to sell the 997TT. I'd enjoy it until the 991TT comes out, wait to see the actual reviews and then make a decision to jump ship. If you sell it now, you will miss it dearly and what if the 991TT turns out not meeting its expectation? Just a thought.
Is there every really a good time to sell? Anytime you sell a car you lose money, at least 99% of time.
Jman- I'd like to believe you but a new car is always going to better than the old one.

That's what I keep telling the 356 owners, but they just don't listen...

The TTS front end will lose contact more then a midengine car like the 430 because of the rear engine weight bias. But that can be fixed with the RSS stage 2 suspension setup. My GT2 will keep front end grip much better then the 458 or scud, I have tracked all 3 of them and experienced this myself.
The 991 TT will probably be better in many ways and maybe worse in some, like feeling less raw, as some complain about the new 991 compared to the 997. I dont agree about with that though, again I tracked both models back to back at the porsche driving school and the 991 was just flat out much better in every category.

The 991ttt will have three turbos, and an optional sequential shift manual based on the cup cars. It will be offered with a pdk or 7 speed manual version of the pdk, the sequential tranny will be expensive. Thats the good news. Latest info from a good source.
The bad news is it will start at 150 and weigh 4000#.

Lemme guess he runs a 430. Look get a gt2 or gt3 if you want a track car. If you are taking corners like that on the street.........................................
Thats what a TT is a STREET car. Want a race car get one.

What do you mean "sell"?
In any case, I just bought mine. Love it. If I change, I change to another 911.
It is true, the front end is light. I was on German highway, 260kmh and it was scary how light the front and the steering are. It was much more relaxing to do 300kmh in a front-engined Audi. But I am not switching from 997T to something else.
If selling I think spring is good time, at least in places that has pronounced seasons. :-)

Thanks for the input.
Can you tell the details about the RSS kit? I only drive on the street and I dont want to make my 997 TT harder. Want to keep it as hard as it is now.
Does the RSS kit cause a harder ride?
Call Mike at RSS, they are one of the vendor sponsors on here. He is great and can answer questions better then me, and will not over sell you what you dont need. He can ship the parts to you. Tell him Tarek referred you and that you are a forum member.
