Fabspeed vs FVD exhaust, which makes more power?

I have an FVD tune on my car that I'm happy with and looking to add exhaust. My choices are FVD or Fabspeed at this point.

The FVD system would be headers, 200 cell cats, and their muffler.

The Fabspeed system would be headers, 200 cell cats, and their supersport x-pipe.

The question is which of these would make the most power? My FVD tune should get along with either yes? The fabspeed is a good bit less expensive, and more readily available is why I'm looking at it.

Not sure which will make more power, but I'm pretty sure the difference would be marginal at best....I have the FVD, I can tell wih out a doubt it sounds great

Thanks all. The only problem with FVD is they don't have any in stock in the US and would take 3 weeks to get me one.

After just waiting 2 months for rims to come in I'm a little burned out on waiting long periods for new toys to arrive. If its really worth it I could wait I guess. That's what I'm trying to figure out. The sound doesn't matter to me as much as performance. I drag race this car. I want to hit 10.5 or lower, at 10.7 now.

Hey Bildad, a bit off topic but I'm just curious are you running a 1/4mile in 10.7 with just a tune? Or do you have any other mods?

I don't think the performance gains differ dramatically as long as they are both running 200 Cell Cats, I personally have the Techart sports exhaust.

Tune only. Here's a vid, not the best run. That was 10.77. Best is 10.74 from Aug.

What tune do you have? I have completely stock 997tt and I was thinking of just doing a tune sometime down the road. Some say without an exhaust it's really a negligible difference in performance and some say otherwise. I was thinking of the softronic but curious as to your thoughts and others. Sorry, don't' mean to steal your thread but I'd appreciate your input.

Thanks

Bildad,

I will be happy to check into production times tomorrow morning for you, perhaps we can get this bumped up for you as production is really starting to catch up after the German month long August / September vacation times.

Thanks,
Rhonda

It's an FVD tune. It does pretty well for just a negligible improvement methinks. I'd say the tune nets you more than exhaust does. Keep in mind I'm in TX and my best run was made in August at a +2200 DA, not at MIR or other tracks running at a negative DA. Pretty impressive for just a tune.

Seems a lot of people do exhaust for sound, as evidenced by the lack of dynos which makes my research all the harder. Sound is near the bottom of the list for me.

Well all, looks like Dallas Raceway may be closing its doors. They did at the beginning of this year without warning but reopened. There's Texas Motorplex in Ennis, however I tried to run the turbo there once and after one run they told me I couldn't run again as I went too fast. Apparently even on street night if you run under 11 seconds you have to have a full rollcage and fire suit. I'm not putting in a rollcage. This leaves me with no 1/4 mile track to run down come Dec. 1/8 mile doesn't interest me. Thus brining my quest for a faster time slip and further mods to an end. What a letdown.
