First p-car on the way (997.2), need help with mods...
Finally decided to pull the trigger on a 2010 911tt with PDK and low miles. I almost made a few offers on some 997.1s for the GT1 engine but in the end decided I'm not going for big horsepower and I wanted the PDK. Car will be here in a week and a half.
In the mean time, I am looking into base mods for the car and have the following list of areas I'll be covering immediately:
a.) Tune - looked at many options including GAIC, Softronic, EVOMS. Would prefer to flash load which suggests GAIC and Softronic. But Sharkwerks is close by so bench loading the EVOMS shouldn't be that much of a hassle. They all seem to be similar, same power range, similarly popular. Really can't decide and so I'm hoping someone can mention the one thing that causes me to move in a certain direction.
b.) Exhaust - mainly looking at Europipe and Akrapovic. My friend is an Akra dealer but even with favorable pricing, there's a large gap. I think the main issue is that the Akra cats are an expensive add on and I'm not sure they are any better. With the exhaust I know what I'm paying for with the titanium material as well as the carbon fiber trim around the tips. But with the cats, I don't see why they are so expensive. Hoping someone can tip me in a direction here as well.
c.) Suspension - going Bilstein PSS10s. Friend says I need drop links as well.
d.) Wheels - TBD. Most likely leaning towards HRE's new S series line up, either the S101 or S107s. But also looking at other brands. Going 20". Yes, slight performance loss but I'm trying as much as possible to have the wheels lightened and I can't fight the urge to go big here.
e.) Clearbra - talked with a few installers who can do Xpel but they mentioned it's very thick and they have seen it crack around tight curves after time. Most likely going with Venture Shield either via Premier or another installer but worried about yellowing as my car is white.
Thanks for any help. It has been difficult trying to decide but at least it's something fun to be stressing about. I'm coming from an E60 M5 so this ought to be an interesting change.

Sounds like about 40k in mods
have fun my friend, the first thing your will notice is the ability to gain speed much much faster than the M5....I have a friend that just dumped his TTS for a new M5 and is already bored...
welcome to the thrust club!

Zero911 Congrats on the purchase !! As far as the suspension the Pss10's are awesome coilovers but if you're going to mostly track the car I would recommend going with the KW coilovers. We have them on sale now Click Here for more information.

Without question should be the first purchase. It can save a lot of aggravation and save sum future purchases towards the local PD/court system.
