700awhp 997tt vs. HPF Stage 2.5 -ShiftS3ctor Airstrip Attack

I believe the 997 owner is a resident here. At the track he told 700awhp, but I think there was a mis-communication and he is making a little bit less. Anyone know?

So basically the Porsche is stock or he decided to run up two gears?

Should have also went from a stop. Why bother running a AWD car from a roll especially if you're going up on Youtube afterwards...

I used to own an M3 and have nothing against them, but when they both passed the marker to take off it looks like the M3 already had a couple car lengths of a head start. Wasn't exactly a fair start IMO. HPF M3's are no joke though def an expensive kit.

Adam, did you upgrade the size of your injectors before the event?

The M3 with the HPF turbo kit is very fast. To get a E-46 M3 to perform like a 997 turbo your going to spend a grip of cash. I would say 45 to 65k would be about the number depending on what level HPF kit you do. Then there is a much needed brake up grade. Brembo kit is a must if you want to stop. Stock supension needs to be upgraded. Subframe needs to be reinforced. Exhaust, section 1 and 2 pipes. The list go's on and on. They are fantastic cars to mod.

Great times Adam and thanks for the run. We should definitely do it again at the next one!

Did you convert your car to rwd? If not, you were still having traction issues with awd?!?

The 800 on my window was a bit conservative as I noticed everyone was sand bagging with their numbers. Some put their wheel figures, while some put their crank figures. I just went in between lol. The car makes 695-700rwhp SAE corrected though.

I agree, it looks like I was .5-1 car length ahead when we started. It's very hard to get the start just right; this wasn't intentional...

However, I don't think that that the outcome would have been that much different even if we had a perfect start. I also had a passenger when Adam didn't

About 35k including ALL supporting mods to get the car to my level, lot's of the mods that I have aren't necessarily needed...

Here is a great shot by a great buddy of mine from the event when I was lining up to run a 750rwhp supercharged Vette:

I am not sure how this compares but I ran an HPF 2.5 car in my 05 Turbo S with alpha 28 turbos and a 1.2 bar tune. I was on pump with meth because I only have 91 here and he was on race according to him and it was not close. He claimed traction was the issue but I was pulling hard up top. I think my car was making less 600awhp and he said his was around 700rwhp on race gas. I think the issue is the 63mm turbos on this one. I am not saying anything bad about either car. Just giving my take

Unfortunately, the majority of HPF M3 owners never address the traction issues. Trust me, with any type of street tire, you will be spinning 4th at over 100mph!

It took me a decent amount of work to get my car to hook up decently. Also, my car is lightened by about 300lbs.

Its hard to get VTG's to push above 650WHP from what Ive heard. Most VTG kits make low 600's. Another issue is that the stock fuel system runs out of fuel on E85 at around the 620 level. I know EdElectra in New York did extensive testing with E85 VTG builds dynoing the car after every single mod to see what made power and the highest they ever saw was 615WHP. (Maybe he can chime in). I think Champion was the only company to ever hit 700whp with the VTG's. Both cars are awesome though. If you add up all the parts that Adam upgraded its probably one of the highest upgraded VTG kits out there.

Theres actually a similar event on the east coast, but they have been posting in the 996tt side of the forum. Def worth it to check it out lots of Vids. Should say Dec. 1 roll race event.
