Purchase in Canada ship to USA
Not sure why you would shop in Canada. US pricing is almost always cheaper than up here. Thousand of Canadians shop for US cars. I have bought cars in the US and have saved thousands even after shipping and duties. Also we use salt on our roads which messes up the aluminum engine finish and chips the paint. If I was you I would look in the US perhaps in a warm state that doesn't use road salt or sand. Hope this helps.
I suggest you make sure the warranty isn't voided by importing it in to U.S. I sold my ford gt to a guy in England who had a major engine failure ($22,000) and when he put in the warranty claim ford denied it pointing out to him the warranty language which did say it was voided. He wound up getting the dealership in U.S. that serviced it for check engine light problem before he shipped it to England to pay for it.
I agree with Dawich - US cares are cheaper and southern cars dont have the salt issue. I have purchased 4 US vehicles and imported to canada and saved Big money. Like $25k on a GMC Yukon, and probably $35k on my 911TT. Lots to consider - applicable duty, warranty, ect
Unless you're looking at car that was never offered to our market.. Such as the R34 Skyline for example, they're also not street legal lol

The car in question is a 2004 Ferrari Challenge Stradale. Hard to find. My questioning was based on personal experience from someone that experienced exporting into USA. I wanted to find out the costs and paper work involved.
I found my answer. FYI it would cost about $8000. That includes duty fees, taxes and changing out the Speedo form metric to miles.
Thanks to all that responded.

sc170,
How do you like your Challenge Stradale compared to your old 911 Turbo? Your Stradale looks awesome. Love the colors.

The 997TT is also a very special car. Great looks and performance!
If I could only have one ... CS!
If I could do it again ... I would have BOTH!
Registering it in your state might be troublesome. Years ago I brought a 6 month old Honda Accord into California. It was a nightmare getting it registered in CA. Driving it over the border was no problem at all. Registering it was crazy hard.
I had to take it to one of the special gross polluter DMV stations to get it smogged.
The DMV wouldn't smog it until I got a special letter from Honda stating that it met US emission standards.
Without the letter from the manufacturer I would never have been able to register the car.
Good luck.
