2008 997TT problems with turbo
Hello all, Just got my 08 997TT back from the shop for a new clutch. Drove home all seemed fine. Took the car out for a drive this weekend and I have no Turbochargers? Car drives fine other than the Turbo's just don't activate. I am thinking something came loose from the repairs I just had done. Can anyone help? I can't imagine both turbos would go out at the same time.
In all likelihood there is an air leak in a boost hose or hoses caused by moving the motor around during your clutch repair. Not a big deal. Take it back to the shop for repair. The shop should have a smoke machine that injects pressurized smoke into the system so the mechanics can observe where the leaks are emanating from. If they don't have such a device, you probably don't want them working on your car.........Best,

More unlikely is that the control arm for the variable vanes in your turbos came loose (happened to me). In this case do not drive the car - take it in to have it checked. Mine, with the vanes closed caused excessive pressure and literally burned out my new spark plugs and coils in a few hundred km's when it happened.
Ditto, I had no problem driving it though. Turbos just wouldn't give full boost. I fixed it myself easy enough. It just popped back on.
Ok, so I'm driving to drop the car off at the shop and what do you know. The turbochargers are working just fine. Now what?
For example at Watkins Glen this weekend. I got
C1412: Boost pressure electric actuator temperature b1 Upper limit value exceeded.
My turbos shut down and I was a normal car for the last 2 laps

I was running in sport mode (which gives a little longer boost I think) and hammering my turbos. So the next few sessions, I didn't use sport mode and was easier on the hammering and had no issues. Cleared code and all is well.
I had a similar problem. It was the turbo actuators, fixed with a special silicon lubrication from Porsche. Do a search on 6speed and you will read more about it.

So I was driving my car yesterday and the turbo's worked great, I keep an I on the psi Guage and goes up all the way to 18psi. This morning I wad driving to work and psi guage barely going up. Can it be the weather, humidity? Should I be concerned?
