New (to me) 2011 997.2 Turbo S
New (to me) 2011 997.2 Turbo S
* EDIT: some initial pics on page 2 *
What's up guys.
Just bought a 997.2 Turbo S to share garage space with my 2013 M3 (ESS S/C 580 rwhp @ 8,600 rpm)
I participate in race events here in SoCal like the Shift-S3ctor and Omega Motorsports (NoFlyZone) airstrip events as well as track events. Looking forward to seeing how a stock Turbo S can do in straight line acceleration and track events against the insanely modded cars we have here. The next Airstrip event is November 23rd so I'll bring the Porsche this time and create a compilation vid of how I do against the cars I race.
The Turbo S is warrantied until Oct 2016. I'm a total mod addict (need therapy
) so the lack of availability of mods on the 997.2 is actually good news for me. lol
Don't have pics yet but here's one from the dealer. Got it from Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills, CA. Maybe formerly owned by a member here?
Look forward to hanging out here.
Cheers.

Great pickup, congrats. Will do good at straight line races, looking forward to your videos. On track days it will still beat most cars out there, but will feel odd in the corners with the numb steering from the AWD. When I go back and forth from my RWD GT2 to a AWD TTS, it takes away all my confidence in the corners because I have no idea when traction is at its threshold.

Do you have separate track wheels/tires? I suppose that's an expensive proposition in these car with the mono lug nut...probably not a lot of wheel options.
Thx.
I run into Thomas@GIAC at some of our SoCal events. I'm sure he'll show up to the next Airstrip event Nov 23rd and I'll get the latest from him.
Thanks

What's up! Glad you are here as well. So are you ditching the M3?!?! Not going to S/C it?
I think the 911T is the better choice anyway It just does everything plus if you can get warranty that's icing on the cake.
Good luck on your search. I'll give you a ride in mine if you want.
Congrats on the new ride! Maybe we can flash your car at No Fly Zone for some back to back performance testing.

Thank you sir!
Come out to NoFlyZone and I'll let you ride shotgun and film!
Dunno if you remember but we met at the first NoFlyZone after I raced Kenneth. Funny how back then my M3 put 2 cars on him and now I'm sure he'd put a bus on me!
I'd love a tune that adds power only above 5K RPM. This thing doesn't need any more torque down low and besides, adding more torque lower in the RPM range tends to breaks things.
