How does the AWD & center diff handle power slides on a 911?

Can I push the 997 911TT into a corner and make its tail come out easily and nicely? (All T/C off)
I am debating a modified '07 because its cheap and its a manual, but I wonder if I will have fun with it and it's AWD... ?

Yes with traction off and sport mode on (gives more power to the rear) you can easily slide the rear end out. However the awd system is always working with you to ensure you get through the corner as as fast as possible. This makes it not as fun and partially unpredictable as you never know where exactly the power is to go but it always works out in your favor. It is pretty neat experiencing the awd do its work.
Thus; you can easily slide the car however it will never be as fun or predictable as a rwd.

The AWD system is weird.
Car feels like a RWD till the middle of a drift, then the AWD system starts to do its job and the car feels weird.
An LSD would help but there isn't one for the Tiptronic

You need to be patient learning the limits of the car. When I. Was young in my M3 and Z cars it was easy to slide and I learned the hard way many time how good I. Was NOT.
The 911tts is just a fun once you learn it and faster through the turns will less drama. I like it at 47 with such an expensive car

It can be done in the 911TT but you have to push the car harder to provoke the drift...which results in a less predictable drift. It's a little scary to be honest - hard to tell when and how hard the tail is going to kick out. Also, the traction control kills any slip angle unlike the MDM in the BMWs that allow some drifting but will save you if you push it too hard.
All that being said the 911TT is still a fun car to drive.

AWD cars are not exactly meant to be drift machines, so if that's what you're looking for, get an FR, or if you want to go with a 911, stick to the RWD variants. It's very easy to get the tail to step out on the TT but the front wheels reign that in rather quickly in dry conditions. Wet surfaces tend to make it slightly easier to do flashier drifts in the TT, and the transitions feel smoother as the front grip takes a bit more time to bite and bring the drift under control. I say slightly as the rear weight bias still makes it pretty hard to control the drift consistently, at least for me.
From the video it is worse than my old GTR which I was able to powerslide even though it was AWD, I could keep the tail stepped out as the torque overrode T/C when in triple-R mode and the LSD helped it out as well.
So far my 2 best cars to power slide in are my old F10 M5 and my 458.
My F10 M5 I could hang the rear out, then pop out even MORE and bring it back in... like a dual stage power slide, hehe, perfect for thrilling passengers who thought the first bump out was as far sideways as I would go.
I hate my ML63's transmission and traction control though, can't really do crap with that transmission and the fact that I can't even disable T/C fully. Swapping it for another M5/M6 in a few months.
