Wheel finish opinions
Wheel finish opinions
Mr recently acquired 09 came with CL's finished in a very dark grey gloss metallic finish. While at times the wheels look good, in most circumstances it's hard to see the wheels details and design which I like. Given that, I'm contemplating refinishing the wheels in either titanium or graphite finish. I think the more common silver is too light. I've attached another forum member's (thanks WaltB) beautiful black TT with granite grey wheels that I think are the tone I'm after. So any opinions? am I crazy to change? other ideas? Thanks for any input.
Save your money, those look great.
IMO…if you want to transform the look of your car I would paint all of the lowers white to match the exterior. This is a major upgrade, you'll be shocked at how it changes the look of your car.

By the looks of it it's the darker shade that makes it loose details and too much sparkle. A glossy smoke or charcoal with less flake will do the trick. like WaltB's. I agree it looks great but know what you mean and I can be pretty picky. Been there. especially if it bothers you.

Wheels look great spend money on suspension.
Jab away eurotom, it's OK. I guess I can't say the issue isn't black and white because well, it is. If some respects I like the black lower treatment, but like the wheels is doesn't look as good in some lighting and it doesn't photograph as well. The white pieces didn't go anywhere though and I thinking about switching back, which is easy. I'm a little **** so I'll have to have them re-sprayed before I put them back on.
You want to consider bronze also. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...shed-rims.html
Different strokes for different folks. Color / style of wheels are all over the place.
The 996tt or the wheels? Just looking more at the color. Not necessarily my style of wheel.
Here's bronze on a 997 turbo. There's also pictures of 3 piece ADV.1 in bronze center/matte finished aluminum rim on this same turbo.

If I go with the consensus thus far it seems I should;
-leave the wheels the way they are,
-spend the money saved on suspension improvements
-put the white lower rocker panels back on the car.....
