Dension Owners

If you were to do it all over again, would you buy the Dension unit? I dont care much about the hands free feature, more so being able to play music off my iphone or usb drive so i dont have to carry around cds. Ive seen people enjoying the unit with no issues, to others who have lots of issues, so just trying to decide.

Nope. For the price. Nothing but flakey. When you ask for help..It has to be your fault for running an optic wrong. The instructions are useless too... My opinion...you asked:-)

Does anyone in the SoCal area have a 500 SBT installed that I can check out? I'd like to see one in action before I decide.

I would like to know the same question. Looking at the App3 from pioneer. Looks promising. Can anyone share their Dension experience? it does seem easier and will maintain the cars functionality.

What's out there besides the Dension? I have it. It sucks. Mine only works when it feels like it. If there was a better option, I'd gladly sign up.

Absolutely not, works 50% of the times I get in the car, and when it doesnt you dont have radio and navigation either.

Only thing flakier than the product is the non-existen Dension support.

it doesn't help that the oem CD player seems a little particular about playing burned CDs.

I'm trying to decide the same thing right now. What do you lose by changing out the PCM? Auto wipers, headlights etc are optioned through the PCM right?

Eric from bumper plugs. What do you think about these reviews? I still want something to play my tunes, but these reviews are scaring me. Do you feel some issues are due to installation?

I have prob re done install 5 times, since support always "blames" this. It was more or less useless to start with but later software updates made the unit better into the 50-50 system it is today. This makes me belive its actually software or the unit that is flaky.

Next mod here will be a pcm replacement...

Sounds to me like this is truly the only way to go. That said, what are people using out there? That Pioneer App unit mentioned earlier in this thread looks to be pretty cool.

+100...I have had similar experience...Works perfect and other times...DEAD. And it is ALWAYS your fault for wiring or not looping the MOST Fiber Optic properly. You would think if it is installed and works perfectly sometimes...How could it be installed improperly???

Instructions and tech support are useless and actually usually add to the confusion!

Very frustrating, but limited options.
