18” Forgestar Track Wheels
18” Forgestar Track Wheels
I picked up some new wheels for DE’s and autox. While I haven’t hit the track yet, I’m pretty pleased with how they’ve turned out so far.
Wheels are 18" Forgestar F14. Tires are Toyo R888 in 255/35 & 335/30.

Sorry for the crappy resolution. The 18’s and the thick sidewalls give it a bit of old school look.

For those that like the details….

The (10” overall width) wheels and the (10.2” overall width) tires are essentially flush with the top of the front fender. This has a nice and wide front track for the DE’s, but if I was doing street wheels I’d back off the offset a few mm. In the rear, the (13.3” overall width) tires are essentially flush with the fender (the rear wheels are 13” overall).

I just drove a little to scrub the tires. Lock to lock turning is fine and no rubbing. The stick at this early stage seems pretty nice! I hope to hit DE and autox around the end of the month, so I’ll share some more impressions then.

I actually have the same wheels coming in tomorrow. I went with a x53 and x50 offset however. Any particular reason you went with your offset? The guys from Forgestar recommend mine when I said I wanted a track specific set.
Either way, they look good!

Question as to why you're using the same aspect ratio as oem 19's??
If I recall you are going to mount R6's? 245 front? 255 R6's probably won't fit well.
The front to rear (diameter or circumference) ratio on the R888's is within 1% difference to the F to R ratio of the stock tires so no differential issues. More noticeable on lesser HP cars, but smaller diameter wheels are easier to spin up and claw out of slow corners. However, I'm only less than 0.5" shorter in dia......

. Nice setup!
I asked for recommended offsets and the guy said 50f and 52r. Different guys different recommendations I suppose. The differences are in the mm's so probably not really noticeable. However, I did pick my 50f and 48r so the 255 and 335 tires would clear inner shock and be no more than flush outside.

Yep, I just got mine mounted today with the R6s. 245/35 Front and 315/30 Rear.
I head to NOLA this weekend to test them out and am very excited. Getting my track alignment Friday and will install the wheels after that before putting the car in the trailer.
