iPhone 5S / music / '11 997 TTS

Hi there,

Quick question for those who have upgraded from a 4S to a 5S iPhone. Does Porsche sell a new connector piece for the 5S to plug into the centre console to play music........? No bluetooth streaming in these older 997 TTS models - at the moment struggling to find an OEM connector.

Cheers,

I could not find an OE cable with the lightening connnector; however, you can get a 30-pin to lightening adapter from Apple or 3rd parties. I do not know if the PCM can control the iPhone as a music player though. I ended up getting a classic iPod to leave in my car permanently. I can plug my iPhone into the Aux input if I ever want/need to play stuff on there, such as Pandora or other streaming services or podcasts.

Machinehead is infamous around these parts
+1 for 30 pin to lightning adapter attached to the PCM to iPod interface cable. The iphone 5/5s even shows up as an iPod (track list, search, etc..) Doesn't charge your iphone 5 simultaneously though , at least in my case.

I am using the 0.2m Apple 30-pin to Lightning cable adapter and it works for all things:

1) Charges.
2) iPhone audio works. Spotify works.
3) PCM can choose songs, etc.

Hi there,

Mine doesn't seem to have this functionality for music. But as far as I remember, this is not an option for '11 997 TTS models. I can't stream music but I can connect via BT for phone calls.

Cheers,

Same here, I'd be really curious to know if somehow I was missing something and have BT audio capability

BT audio streaming was never an option on the 997 models and has been introduced to the 991 model range.......much to my disappointment! Works a dream on the 958, but audio quality is better when plugged in.

Cheers,
