Track rotors
Track rotors
I'm getting a set of slotted rotors for track duty with some DD to replace my OEM drilled (tired of the cracking and short life span). I see the usual suspects, DBA, Girodisc, Stoptech but I'm intrigued with RacingBrake.
Does anybody with track usage uses RacingBrake rotors? If yes, what pads, how long did they wear and any other input is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I've never had the squealing problems people describe, never bothered me. These new rotors may be a different issue, will try them out today.
there is some "springs" that pushes on the pads, did you replace those as well? How long does it take to diy the pads?
(the Porsche dealer took $2200 for changing front pads last summer so I am planning to diy this year)

The spring is just a metal clip type thing, did not replace that. Since I track and check pads often, I zipped tied the brake wear sensors to the suspension and don't use them, they break easy trying to get them out of pads. So changing pads on front, is just removing 1 bolt and pads come right out.
For the novice, you need to know to push down on the clip, so bolt can get clearance and come out. And you have to manually push the calipers back into the brakes to provide enough room to fit new pads in. Change pads at last track day, 20 minutes tops while talking to friends,
.Just drove to tech inspection, no noise with new rotors and Pagid Yellows. Though they haven't seated real well yet.
I've tried Pagid RS29s and they are amazing on the track even with the OEM rotors. However for DD and when cold they are like driving on ice! Do you face this same issue with the RS19s?
I tend to not drive when really cold out but I have no complaints either way with them.
Holy crap $2200? OEM pads cost around $330, takes 15 minutes or less per side to change DIY?

Will prob try the Pagids next time!
Had a full weekend using the new RacingBrake rotors and they were great. Never once did I feel any brakes issues. And after beating on them pretty hard they look great. Have zero squealing with Pagid RS19 pads. Next up the Glen, next month.
Also used my new toy, an AiM Solo, like I need something else to obsess knowing more about.
Funny note: Took an instructor out for a ride in the black group. I asked, "do you want my instructor in car speed? or do you want to see what a turbo can do?" he chose the latter. He was giggling he whole time as we played cat and mouse around slower traffic with a GT3RS (GT3 did have some bad tires, so he says
), I was on RE-11s. Only complaint he had was that I approached slower cars too fast, most never knew I was there and they got startled when they did see me.
