I'm just curious if this is the normal behavior of the car ... it is bone stock. When I stomp on the gas, at around .8 I can hear the turbo spool.


OEM Exhaust, stock everything.


I noticed that on my 996TT I couldn't hear this on stock exhaust ... not even on an X-exhaust ...


Just curious if this is normal or something is loose ....

Then your lucky cuz usually you won't hear unless you have aftermarket exhaust, your turbo is reaching psi boost?

 

I'm not sure if I would consider myself lucky ... or perhaps there's something loose, no?

 

If your car isn't losing power and your just hearing the spool no, what is your boost level reaching in regular and sport mode?

 

I could sometimes hear it on mine, but not very often and it wasn't really that loud. I really had to pay attention and I forget if it was with the windows down or up.

 

Oh, I can hear it with the windows up ... even through the stereo ... 0.8 (1.2 sport mode).

 

Then your all good!

I just picked up my new to me 997tt yesterday and I can definitely hear the turbos spooling, much more apparent than my old 996tt.

 

I hear the turbos spool all the time. It is a blissful and wondrous sound : )
