Exclamation Oh my God! What is going on with my car???

Hey all,

Today at around 12pm with somewhat hot temperature outside, I was driving a bit harsh and I got this warning message:

"Transmission emergency run" and then when I stopped at the traffic light, the dot next to the "D" indicator started blinking and I couldn't drive the car anymore.

I turned the car off and on few times and I was able to move the car forward but I got another message saying "Transmission temperature too high".

I parked the car on the side, and now waiting for the tow truck

Is the PDK nightmare about to start for me???

whatever the problem, the dealer warranty will cover it, at least you are sorted ;-)

there should be some leak somewhere, did you check your parking spots?

Unfortunately no warranty!

And I checked, no leaks underneath the car, but maybe cause its sealed with the plastic covers on bottom.

once when i test drove a tip, it went into limp mode, but after about a minute of switching off the car, it went away. Maybe it really is a temperature issue, but i would read codes off a durametric pro before i sent it to the dealer to investigate. Or ask any specialist shop to plug in their PIWIS and read codes, usually they charge about 100 AED in Dubai.

2 things. Either Overheat, or battery volt issues. I say that because you can get a emergency rrun message if ther battery volts are low on startup.

Overheat meaning what? I mean i was driving a bit harsh but such a car should handle this kind of driving.

And the battery, hmmm but nothing else seemed fading and battery indicator was normal. I was looking at all indicators including oil temp etc. all was fine.

Emergency run

Same thing happened to me about 4 months ago; faulty temperature sensor; requires replacement of sensor and reprogramming of the TCU and ECU by dealer. The PDK is fine, only the temp sensor failed.

^ seems similar to your situation. Just got my car back, they replaced the temp sensor and reprogrammed. Hopefully this will do it. I mean summer is just starting and temps reach about 122F and sometimes higher!

So its been almost a month since i last replaced the temp sensor, and now I got the same message again! "transmission temperature too high"

When will this nightmare end? Why does this keep happening?

So the mechanic decided to replace the cooler that works with the gear box to cool the oil within, as explained by him.

He said the fault code had to do with overheating of the gear box and his assumption is the cooler is not functioning well.

Just got my car back, i will test it tomorrow and see.
