Step 1: Buy one of these for under $10: http://r.ebay.com/ao5VHn
Step 2: Download free Torque app on your Android device
Step 3: PROFIT.

Hope that helps?

Thanks for the very interesting (and cheap!) recommendation.

Have you actually tried it and was able to erase the service code with it?

Hi Cannga, I've been following your great posts for years.

Yes, you can erase the check engine light, I've done it, The Torque app also provides data logging on most sensors, including boost. ..and it works on any OBD2 vehicle (post 1996 IIRC).

Seems like this device does a lot for 10 bucks. Group buy anyone?

Kidding aside, I bought it. Any advice/instruction as far as what to do to clear the Service Light with this device (specific steps?)? Where do I get the "Torque" App please? And thanks for the kind words.

Do you have an Android phone? Just to to app store and download free version of Torque. I bought the paid version to support the developer, it really is a great product.

If you have an iphone, I'm sure there is an equivalent app.

There is a menu option in Torque for "Fault Codes"

Yes I have Samsung S3. Found the app you mentioned and downloaded it: Torque by Ian Hawkings in Google Store. Now I am just waiting for the ELM.

I assume something simple like go to "Fault Codes," find it, then "Clear Fault Code"? My car has the Service Light on now so I should be able to check it out soon.

Pretty soon we'll be able to tune our cars from our smart phones! This looks quasi revolutionary. I see there are already over a million downloads.

You got it. I had a phantom check engine light that I cleared, it never reappeared.

I'm hoping a tuner already has this in the works Most reviews say go for the Pro version which costs $5 so that's what I went with. Here's a demo of the product:

Thanks Matt! I humbly suggest that anyone who is happy with this product support the app developer who created it. It's updated and improved regularly so well worth the $$ (to me).

This thing is unfreaken believable! Start a new thread for this, this is HOT. So much for the Peake scan tool, short that stock, they're going out of business. Amazing little tool. I don't have it yet, but it's definitely on the way.
