Jeff Zwart In Car Footage from Pikes Peak!!
Hey Guys,
This year I had the pleasure of doing the calibration work for Jeff Zwart's Turbo Cup Car that races up Pikes Peak, and I figured I would share the in car footage.
A little background on me, I am one of the Porsche engineers for Cobb Tuning, but I also have been calibrating cars for around 10 years in a variety of different series and competition platforms.
This car is on a Motec, not the stock ECU, but we learn a lot what the cars like at this level, and this helps us to take what we learn on the race car and apply it to our calibration's for the platforms we support.
This car was built by BBI Autosport in Huntington Beach and is driven by the man himself Jeff Zwart. It is a cup car chassis with a built turbo motor in it, with slightly bigger turbos.
We qualified 1st in Time Attack and have the record for qualifying but on race day we lost a fuel pump on the mountain. Hard to have happen, but that is racing!

That is some really solid driving! Losing that fuel pump must've hurt knowing just how much time gets invested in events like this from car prep to tuning, etc, especially when you're at the head of the pack. Hopefully you guys have better luck out there next time.

That sound is the blowoff valves, they open to atmosphere when throttle is lifted.

Awesome vid! Joey at BBi walked me around the car today explaining the chassis/suspension build on it. And 2,700 pounds with 830 HP HOLY CRAP!!!!
