997.1 turbo with a 997.2 facelift, the best of both worlds?

How many of you manual 997.1 Turbo guys like having a mezger engine but love the .2 facelift (Dynamic front headlights, LED rear tails, rear bumper with larger exhaust openings) and think about doing a conversion?

Is that the perfect (and last), manual 997 turbo?

In other words.. should I do it?

Currently doing it. Scheduled for next month - a 997.2 rear LED conversion. Couldn't care about the front dynamic lights (which I have heard need to be self adjusted manually when retrofitted with a 997.1).

PurePorsche, sounds exciting, keep us updated! As for the dynamic lights... I love them. I heard you will lose the self-adjusting ability but the lights will work.

I also heard that you can't use the stock 997.2 exhaust tips on a .1 car for some reason.. I love those too. Oem look but nice and wide.

Btw, I'm originally from Vancouver as well!

A fellow Vancouverite, awesome!

Yeah, I have TechArt after-market exhaust and tips so not too worried about the exhaust outlets.

Yup!

Is it really impossible to work the 997.2 exhaust tips onto a 997.1 conversion I wonder.

I have a .1 and am considering the rear end update to a .2. I have seen a few post on this. Any idea what the total cost is for the conversion? Where are you ordering your parts from

Not impossible, you need to modify your exhaust or buy a new one

I bought the Europipe 997.1 to 997.2 conversion exhaust.
You can find the differences of the exhaust tips in this thread https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-europipe.html

wow, that's a pricey upgrade. $3K for the bumper and lights + paint is probably going to coast $4K all in. IMO $600 for LED Depo/Dectane lights is a much better value and gets you the LED look at a much better price point. I would prefer putting the balance of the $4k towards a tune, exhaust, wheels or other performance mods.

Good Luck
