Smile Trading a Turbo S for a 991 gt3 !?

After having a 997.1 turbo and then a 997.2 turbo S for the past 5 years now , I have been starting to itch towards the 991 gt3 . The main purpose would be :
1- weekend car
2- need to feel exhaust noise and high rpm,s
3- once or twice a year track ( maybe)
Since the 997.2 has depreciated already and the shape has been around for the past 8 years , would anyone consider this change ?

Nice problem to have!

The 997 is timeless. Body and engine will please enthusiasts for many years to come.

However, switching to a newer n/a engine with some more modern creature features plus the fact that the GT3 will drive more like a true track car without mods has its draws!

Make the switch and mark it down in the book of life as another outstanding experience that few get to enjoy!

If you just want a screaming NA than keep the 997.2 turbo S and buy a bmw m5 e60 or m6 e63 . They are crazy cheap

I personally don't see the draw to the 991. If I were to buy a GT3, it would be a 997. But then again, I'm not one going after creature comforts (which I believe is the draw to the 991, as the appearance doesn't look any better than the 997 IMO).

If you want creature comforts and 9000 RPM, you can't go wrong with the GT3. Otherwise, if you can deal with the slightly outdated technology in the 997.2, I recommend a 997 GT3.

I think there are a few people in your position. Is your car stock? In terms of the exhaust, I was amazed how quiet my 997 TTS was. I could barely hear the exhaust note with the radio at a moderate level. I installed a GMG exhaust which took care of that. The car sounds perfect imho.

Sounds like you have experienced the TT and TTS for a while. I'd make the switch and enjoy something new.

Which GMG system do you have and how much loader than stock? I would love a little more sound in my 997TTS, but do not want it so loud it would be tiring on my ~50 mile/day commute.

I ran a Europipe that was just perfect. Great balance of roar and no drone.

I have a Tubi now. Still sounds outstanding in the 2.5-4.5 rpm range but there is some drone.

A new exhaust will transform your experience

Unfortunately the local dealer here in Dubai made it clear that any modifications to the body , engine or exhaust will null the warranty .As it is I already have issues with them in several issues after I took my car for service with them ...
It's different in the states , you have several local dealers in one state which increases competition and forces them to compete through customer service . We don't have this option here

I went with the GMG 997.2 TT WC-GT Exhaust Series: http://www.gmgracing.com/store/2011/...st-series.html

Driving between 60 and 80 with Sport Mode OFF is easily doable as a DD. With Sport Mode on it is slightly louder at cruising speed. The day after I had the exhaust installed I did a 6 hour drive from Columbus OH to Tail of the Dragon in TN. Person I was with took a conference call in the car during the drive with no issues.
