I replaced mine with Forge as mentioned above, they seem to be the best design of the aftermarket options. It's probably a good idea to lubricate them every now and then though.
These are NOT for a 997.2 these are for the 997.1. The DFI engine went back to BOVs as the 996 used. The GT1 engine uses BRVs as are listed in this thread...you need to see the link I posted in this thread. Regardless of whose BOV you decide to purchase, this is what you'll need.

How do you know if there is a problem or leak with the oem brv on a 997.1tt? I.e what symptoms?
There weren't any symptoms on mine. Pulled the two cap head bolts and looked. It was probably minor... But once I knew there was a hole in it I couldn't put it back in.

Rix, are you still happy with the Forge units can't seem to find the BorgWarner 179424 EFR Compressor Recirculation Valve (CRV) Kit B1/B2 instock anywhere.
I don’t have them anymore, but I think they are one of the better options. I’d pull them once a year and lubricate with some of the red assembly lube just to be safe.
Lord knows what billybob is going to do with this response since he TWSS’d a 5 year old post lol.
