Nice comparison, they look similar but the 991 is lower and wider. The wheels look cartoonish on the 991. Kind of like hotwheel cars.

I swear it's not sour grapes because I don't own the 991, I really believe the 997 looks better, in particular the turn signals location, the oval exhaust pipes, the simple "turbo" badging and the downward slope of the spoiler on the 997. Although they look 85% the same and to each his own. Performance wise of course, there's no comparison especially if you're talking about the 991TTS

Newer is not better. Maybe the next iteration will look better.

Only stop sign I have with all of the new Porsches is the side mirrors coming off the doors below the window rather than mounting off the front of the window like the 997 .
The side mirrors just look cleaner on the 997.
Not a big fan of the 991 sun roof and the front side markers are a little weak . Other than that , i think the 991 looks good .

100% agree.

I was close to leasing a new TTS until I found my blue one. The only big thing I liked about the 991 over the 997 was the rear steer. Aero kit was a must for me.

991 looks terrific, but I think I like the 997 better.

991 performance wrapped in the 997 body = drool!

Thanks for the pics! I love the all red tails on the 997. Has anyone ever noticed they are almost identical in shape to the CGT? In all red, the design lineage is quite clear.

The wheels and the headlights are the only things that throw me off on the 997.1. I think a set of 997.2 dynamic headlights and a set of BBS FI's update the 997.1 turbo perfectly. Looks wise, a modern classic.

I think the 997 Turbo looks better from the back and the 991 Turbo looks better than the front.

The 991 clear tails look cheap and cartoonish and the novel they wrote on the rear deck lid is silly. The simple word "Turbo" tells the world instantly all you need to know.

From the front, I think Porsche did a nice job on the 991.

Completely agree with this. I don't like the back of the 991 but love the front.

I do agree and plan one day to upgrade to the Dynamic headlights.

When running the 1/2 mile races, I've been faster 2 out of two times against the 991 (much faster in fact).
I initially contemplated selling my 07, taking a $100k loss, and buying a 997.2. Instead I had installed a few mods and am much faster than the new Turbos!! At much less out of pocket.
