What are you using for motor oil these days?
I drive my car .. And plan on taking it too the track for some light fun track days.. After talking to undercover and speaking to some track guys with real track miles I'm switching to amsoil 5-40...just finished reading a threAd on a corvette forum were a driver ran 2years 18k and blackstone results come back with good results... I'm not recommending these actions and advise always on 5-7 k ..once a year oil changes as it's cheap insurance ...
I'm using Mobil 5w40 TDT..has higher levels of ZDDP. I get my oil tested each change..lots of interesting Info in this thread..

I switched to Motul 8100 Xcess. The technical section guy from Excellence magazine said it's awesome, my Porsche mechanic swears by it and my last 2 blackstone reports have been great.

so which has higher levels of ZDDP Motul 8100 Xcess or M1 TDT? Looks like M1 TDT ZDDP is 1250 but don't know about the Motul.

I was using Motul Xcess 8100 5W-40 for my last couple of changes and getting it through Amazon but the price has gone up by about 40% since last year. Being a cheapskate, that's enough to sway me to going back to buying the 5 Qt jugs of Mobil 1 0W-40 at Walmart for $25. Honestly, I think if you are like me and changing it every 5k miles then any Porsche approved name brand synthetic in 0w-40 or 5W-40 would perform equally well.
