10.68 -- Cobb tune & exhaust, only (997.1 TT Tiptronic)

Off the shelf 100 octane Cobb tune and decatted exhaust are the only modifications. 997.1 TT @ full weight, shod with bald Kuhmo tires, and power pushed through the universally hated Tiptronic.

Launch technique is same as with most other OEM torque converter automatic transmissions. Specifically - stall to 2800 RPMs (Sport on, PSM off), release brake pedal whilst mashing gas, collect timeslip. Nothing magical, any other Tiptronic should be able to reproduce the results.

No TCU tune (haven’t seen quantifiable before/after evidence of improvement in performance with TCU flashes on the market) and I can certainly share captured test-n-tune datalogs for others' benefit.

And yes, in comparison to .2 PDK timeslips floating around, breakdown doesn’t look much different for same modifications. But not enough modded Tiptronics with publicized times to gauge statistical significance. Let's see if I can inspire a few shamed Tiptronic owners to share.

Will be installing 1000cc injectors and trying Cobb’s E-85 alpha tune shortly. No reason it can’t run low 10s – well, outside of the Mercedes transmission complaining but will cross that bridge if needed.

The TCU upgrade isn't something that will give you improved performance necessarily. Its an upgrade that becomes necessary once you perform other mods which the Tips stock programming is not setup for. For example, once you upgrade turbos, even to a 65mm vtg, the car will not shift correct in auto mode. You will be bouncing off the stock limiter in 1st, 2nd gears, perhaps third. Once the TCU parameters are changed, the car will shift accordingly with your setup, and things like torque limits, shift points, etc are affected/changed. I had to reprogram TCU when I went to 65mm on 100 octane. And had to reprogram once again once I went e85. Car shifts at 7400 and runs strong.
