65mm VTG billet turbo with new HTZ wheel + COBB Tune = Excitement!

Well, I'm in the progress of upgrading my stock turbos with these new built 65mm VTGs along with other supporting mods. Not sure who built these turbos but I bought them from By Design(Sam). Sam currently posted his own thread about these turbos and Kline catless exhaust with videos in 997TT section. These turbos have new HTZ aero wheel which has very aggressive blade angle. Flow rate should be higher than old HTA wheel. Anyway he and Mitch tuned these turbos equipped 997TT(red cab) on his thread. I was lucky that my car has almost identical mods with that red TT so I will be able to use the tune for that car right off the bat. The only difference is that red car has bigger IC than my 997.2 IC. However Sam will tune my car remotely based on my data logging with Mitch's help. As most of you know, their customer service is second to none. Sam replies my text messages within 30 second average and Mitch replies emails like there is no tomorrow. They don't eat and sleep, haha! Anyway I will also run e85 so my car should be pushing decent power. Well, I will update the progress from now on so please stay tuned.

Close up of turbo. I also swapped out my old Forge valves with these modified Forge valves to make a little bit of BOV sound. Can you see the difference?

Awesome! We will have you logging in no time to dial her in. The car will transform bud and the Kline whale is going to sing at the next level octave now!

The turbo's are upgraded, custom clipped and fully re-built for me at TialSport with the latest Alpha stuff. I warranty them and have seen them in action with great results. The technology just keeps getting better and better! Always in stock too from the VTG's to Kline and all the other hardware to Cobb and of'course the customer service! Shameless plug complete

Thanks for the kind words Choi. We love what we do.

Any drawbacks from using those modified forge brvs?

Thanks

Hi J, no just a cool option when you can go MAFless. Some guys like the sound and some do not. It's not overly loud. No downside though.

So you will have to go mafless, in order for you to use it?

Thanks

Yes, otherwise the computer expects all discharge to recirculate. You would get a check engine light.

Update:

Sorry for being delayed because I have been busy and had minor issues here and there. Car was finally picked up this Monday and tuning progress has just started. Man! I love my new turbos and tuning with Sam and Mitch's support. My car is totally different beast now. These Tial 65mm VTGs are awesome! Power is ridiculous and spools like stock VTGs. Boost comes on little later than stock say 3200~3300ish rpm and full boost by 3500! Car pulls so strong and rock solid until redline. I wish I had a higher redline. I recommend these turbos to anyone who is looking for 600whp pump gas or 650~700whp with e85.

Now on to the Cobb tuning with Sam and Mitch. Sam is da man when it comes to tuning and customer service. He never let you down. He will answer 1000 questions you may have in no time including late night, weekends and holidays. Texting with him is very pleasure. Two nights ago, he spent more than 3 hours with me to tune my 93 pump gas maps. I went out 3 times for data logging and he sent me updated maps each time. Car felt better and better. Mitch was in support too while we are doing it. I have never had this kind of experience before. I had so much fun at that night. It was like dating hot girls and chatting with her on the phone overnight.
Well, we are still working on e85 map tonight. As most of you guys know, e85 is another level of driving experience. I filled up e85 yesterday and currently using base map he sent me. Three letters O.M.G! Hard to describe my feeling of it but it's kinda similar to my first driving motor cycle when I was in college. Low end torque and throttle response is insane! Hopefully Sam can do little more after some data logging tonight.

I will run at 1/2 mile roll race event this Sunday. I will try to get 60-130 time and some videos of course. More to come.

Another quick note. These turbos with modified Forge BOV makes the car sound nasty. Turbo spooling sound is so much louder and exhaust tone(Kline catless) somewhat changed in a good way. BOV sound is awesome too. The whole package is enough to scare the hell out of other drivers!

Good times! Thanks for the kind words. It's awesome that you mention the fun aspect. I love what I do and working with all you great guys and the manufacturers and tuning firms involved. It should be fun and you should enjoy the ride. All these goodies sounds, speed and bro-mances...then E85

Party time!
