Bluetooth Satellite Radio Options

Trying to find a good solution for Bluetooth and Satellite radio in my PCM with nav. equipped Turbo. I don't want to replace the entire stereo and do not want an obvious piggy back system. Open to ideas on what you did with pics.

You indicated you don't want to replace the stereo unit, and you also don't want to use a piggy back system..So not sure you have any other options? You would either have to replace the unit( Pioneer , Alpine, etc.), or add a piggy back device( Mobridge, Dension, etc.)...Unless I am misreading something??

Yeah I can see how this makes no sense! I don't want to replace the head unit as I want to keep the stock appearance. I was trying to see if there was a system that integrated into PCM on the backside. If not, I will do a piggyback system but I am not sure which work and how they look. I installed a Kenwood head unit on my 996TT with Bluetooth and satellite and the Bluetooth barely worked while the satellite was just ok. So trying to avoid that.

The only thing that doesn't look stock for the Mobridge installation is the mic for the Bluetooth phone. Mine is mounted on the windshield, close to the rear view mirror. It's almost invisible. I suppose that you could mount a mic in the OE location on the steering column, but I'm not sure. The Mobridge system lets you control songs through the OE head unit, and it displays track information on the PCM screen. It's a good solution.

Got it..The Mobridge and Dension units I mentioned do in fact integrate with the PCM MOST Fiber Optics and are likely the best two choices then.

There are other options that are FM Antenna modulators...not sure you would want that.

Good luck.

Think I will stick with either the Mobridge or Denison products. I need to research them out better but is there clearly one that is better or are they about the same?

I have the Mobridge in mine and you can't even tell its there. Integrates perfectly. My mic for the bluetooth phone is actually mounted in my gauge cluster right above the Tac and you can barely see that as well.

Been reading this over. Looks very very interesting. My only concern are the people who are complaining that it doesn't sound that great. Is that typical?

The Tranzit Blu device is simply an FM Modulator as I indicated above....Thus it simply broadcasts a signal by modulating it at a certain frequency through the antenna cable (like a radio station). It would not have the same quality as a Fiber Optic solution all else equal.

Goldduster is infamous around these parts
I have the Mobridge in mine and have had nothing but problems with it. Am currently replacing it with an Alpine W957. May not have the old fashioned look but it'll bring it into the modern age.

I have the Denison BT 500s and it works great. Need to follow the instructions to the T for a good outcome. Buy it from Eric at bumperplugs. Fantastic service and a wealth of knowledge. After the install, I has a few issues and Eric helped me out. Turned out to be the Samsung I was using.

Good luck with your choice.

I am using the Denison as well. Works great for Sirius/XM (use the Aux input for great sound) and digital music from an SD card. My Samsung S5 will not sync properly via bluetooth, but the system works with every other phone I have tried. The problem is with the Samsung phone, not the Denison.
