PROTO 63.5m 997.1 E85 vs 10.5@138 15 TT 5.0 Mustang

About 3-4 weeks ago a friend told me that this 15 Twin Turbo 5.0 Mustang wants to run me. He is friends with the Mustang guys I know and I told them, "for sure lets line it up!".

The beginning of last week I got a call if we can meet up that Friday as he wants to run and... well... it finally happen!

The Mustang was on a drag radial, on3 Twin Turbo kit and he is a straight up guy that is a true street runner!

My Friend was at the drag strip the weekend previously and recorded him running 10.9 @ 137, but when I spoke to the owner after the runs he said he ran a best of 10.5 @ 138...and I don't doubt it!

I am just shocked how much power these newer Mustangs can make and how easily it can make it! I was looking at the Hellion packages and I am like this is insane these newer cars!!

Looks like I have to dump my stock re-wheeled VTG's for real turbos sooner then I thought!.....Nah, I am just enjoying this overall package I have and will not do anything that will take too much away from my overall package and the great power band!....could it be famous last words...LOL!

**CORRECTION TO VIDEO, IT IS A on3 TT KIT NOT a Hellion kit!!**

Here is the video that my son quickly put together of that night in Mexico and his animation makes it look like real cars are racing...lol!

ENJOY!!:

Bobby your turbo is running ***** out...I don't think you need bigger anything ...I'm going to the track on the 18th...so I'll post some vids of some cool races...last year I was not running right because my turbo inlets were stock and my motor would choke up after 120.. Funny thing is that all the races I lost I had 3-5 cars on them 200 ft before finish line ...not this year...Maclaren is one of the sponsors hope they have the 570s there would like to see how this car stacks up..my guess would be the maybe by next year I'll slap 68mm on the car...

Thanks for the compliment my friend!

I will keep an eye out for that video!

For the $$ and overall balance of our cars, you can not beat re-wheeling the stock VTG turbos with a larger billet wheel.

Again, this car has far surpassed what I thought on the streets! I just do not want to get to caught up in just one thing power/straight line(which lately I have been to focused on) and forget about enjoying the many other reasons of why I purchased this machine. On the streets it is too easy to get side tracked and all of a sudden you are reading and re-reading full engine / turbo builds etc.

I can not tell you how many people have seen this car and said they are heavily considering their next car to be a 911. Their comments are based on the out right performance they have witnessed for such a bolt on car and it's overall package!

A BIG JOKE .....My Supra friend texted me saying welcome to the "1000hp club...LOL!!"
This is based on what people have been seeing & hearing about my car & two people that I don't even know told the Mustang TT guy that my car is making 1000hp!! They were in disbelief when my friend told them that I make no more then est. of 640MAX.....on a Mustang dyno! I can't see my car making more then 630-660AWHP on a Mustang dyno, but it is the power/tq under the curve and making that power for almost the whole pull that make the difference on the street.

I think there is a little bit of safe power left with bigger injectors and a new tune, so we will see what happens.

Your videos mirror my own experiences. So far the only car to get out ahead of me was a bigger turbo GTR with 760 whp still on the stock motor. Even then, my car did really well. Congrats again on your car running so nicely.

S550 bolt on TT can push 700whp on 93 up to 900whp on e85 . I have seen a couple of them from different companies traping 160mph on very high 8s an 1.2s 60feet. Considering that nice kill !!

Wow! Your car is moving Bobby. Specially to pull on a 138 mph trap speed car like that. Making those of us with stock VTGs want to upgrade lol

I absolutely do not doubt it considering your mods and tune! Get some Vids of your runs man!

Last night my friends Supra was set up to run a "750AWHP" GTR (built motor, HKS 28 Turbo's etc) & a EuroCharged TT R8 750AWHP. My friends Supra makes a good bit more then 750WHP & thought I would be more of a fair match, but when we get there the R8 was nowhere to be found (the main run) and the GTR was VERY interested in running my Friends Supra knowing it makes over 900WHP....right away we knew something is up. Well after the run with the Supra we found out it is making 870AWHP and he says, "I make 750 on pump."...lol..still overall was a cool guy!. He said he runs pump all the time and for the first time since his initial race tune gas tune, he put in VP for tonights run with the Supra.... . I asked him if he was up to running on pump (as that is what he runs 98% of the time) and that I think it would be a good run with me on E85 as a bolt on car (that is the fuel I run 100% of the time).... so we will see!

Once again, nice vid production Bobby!

Car is fast as hell, that a sure thing. Swaging a 6 speed isn't nothing to laugh at when you turn your times. Are you even using the clutch?

Be safe!

similar story for me 2 weeks ago. i was heading home from a car meet when a big turbo stang on slicks and skinnies pulls up beside me. I left him a lot worse than this. he runs 10.2@148. pretty awesome.
