Modded 997.2 Takes on Boosted Lambos, Built GTRs, Drag Bikes and more at NFZ CA

Been busy couple weekends at Shift Sector and then at OmegaMotorsport's NoFlyZone only two weeks apart. But 997 can handle anything and asks for more. I can't imagine a modded car so reliable that gets driven like this all time year in and year out. Gotta give props to Porsche for making such a bad *** machine.

Anyway had a fun time as always hangin out with my bros and making new friends.

Enjoy.

And before I get questioned about "making up numbers" see 991 Turbo forum, here's some vBox data (and you will notice all uphill) and there was most definitely a headwind all day:

Man, your car just gets it done. I'm impressed by how fast it is and the mods you have done. We need to talk. Ha!

Thx. On an unprepped surface, is there another bolt on car on the planet that can match a 997.2/991 Turbo PDK off the line? Still searching...

Anytime brother! There are a few people with my exact mods doing the same thing at other events. The tune/powerband is perfectly matched with the chassis. And the best part is how repeatable it is in any conditions.

Great runs Adam!!!
Tony is now allowing 'standing start' runs? Hopefully I will be back soon. It's been at GIAC for 3 weeks.

Awesome vids as always Adam! I love seeing your car out there running hard, over and over again! You're right, it really shows the real power of the 997.2 and 991 platforms!

But OMG that drag bike!! And that turbo'ed 370Z! I would have loved to see how the 370Z matched up against the Huracans or the R8's.

Wow Congrats. Your car is really moving quite fast.

But stock turbos i thought that you had champion 68mm...

Without taking any merit to your car, it seemed that most of the standing starts opponents was sleeping at the start. My understanding is that it would be a better match if they let the driver of the 2017 R8 (race 8) run their cars.

I'm also curious about the HP difference between your car and the 997TT Tiptronic on E85 (race 9). Rolling start helps the Tiptronic disavantage but i think that it still needs at least +50hp to match a 40mph start.

Soooooo... are you running E85 or a blend? I'm being told you can't run E85 on 997.2 cars.

I gotta give props where due: Porsche, GIAC and Champion for the platform, power and reliability and for Toyo for making a street tire like no other.

Well I have to thanks again for all your hard work/testing to get this tune perfect and also perfectly matched with the chassis. The way it launches is unreal. And it's absolutely due to the powerband and torque level at the launch control RPM. Also the reliability from a longevity perspective is now undisputed.

I was nervous about that GTR. It flies. It's got me on the top end but on the low end and mid range the lighter Porsche does the job

Yes as Kchu221 said I have the Tial 68's on my 991 TTS. The turbos on my 997.2 are factory stock originals with 41,000 hard miles on them.

Agreed not everyone launched well, but some of the cars with elevated power levels like the UGR and S/C Huracan's and the big power GTR can't launch well on that surface because they make so much power they would just spin. The R8 was stock so yeah it's gonna get out like it should. But once you start modding any car, there must be significant attention paid to the chassis/drivetrain to get it to hook hard from a dig. In my case it only took r888 to do the job since the platform can still handle ~150 HP over stock.

Thx you got some amazing cars there. Congrats on all your accomplishments with the 997 and also GLWS of your Lambo! If it were in front of me I'd be drooling all over it

Correct zero ethanol since this car is fuel system limited. I was able to try oxygenated Torco 99 octane which was being sold at the event and my car absolutely loved it. I'm sold on this stuff!

Hey Tony - actually yeah there were a couple more races but it was rear-wheel drive cars and after 2-3 seconds the car had disappeared so not very interesting for the video.
