How do i change Brake Pads?

I'm not due but i'm curious. On every high performance car I've ever owned there were a pair of pins on the calipers that would need to be pushed out, slide the pads out, slide the new pads in.

I noticed on my 911 today that there are so such pins.

What's the procedure?

Thanks.

For the rears you have to pull the calipers.

Is that different to a 987?

I replaced the pads from a friend's 987S and I didn't have to pull anything but the pins...
