Totally Perplexed, 997tt.1 vs 991. values

I will apologize at the start if this has been covered. I know cars are not investments, but I don't see anything wrong with driving a nice car for half price of the original MSRP. I have owned a couple of 996tt's and bought and sold them properly price wise. I am currently looking at 6sp 08 997tt cab with low miles and I firmly believe I am buying at the low point and right time for these cars. Availability of low mile 6speeds are becoming harder to find, especially in great condition. While searching I have found several 2011 low mileage 6spd cars in the low 80's. Seems like the prices of the newer cars are falling. Question is why?

I am trying to make sure I do the right thing and basically looking to be confirmed that I am making a wise decision with my purchase of 997tt. My thoughts are I will be buying a proven Mezger engine, 6speed, low mileage car for half of the msrp. OR wait 6-9 months and buy a 2011 for a couple $$$$ more.

Please offer all advise, I need your help. Thank you

Vert 997.1tt are plentiful pick what you like I can sense that you're not a purist which is good it's just a car and meant to be enjoyed. Buy now from the snowy States before it gets warmer and prices goes up. Happy motoring OP!

Sort of confused what specifically you're comparing with the .1TT...2011 NA 991s, or 2011 997.2 Turbos? There are plenty of 991s below $80k.

there are two ways to look at it here.

You can look at the car that has depreciated the most (997.1TT cab) and pray that it has stopped depreciating. Or you can look at the car that is currently depreciating the least (997.2TT 6MT coupe) so you can enjoy the more modern car and lose less on resale.

Or you can just buy the car that you like the most and enjoy driving it!

FYI - the 2011 turbo is a 997.2, not a 991.1.

Also .2 cars do not have the Mezger block and are DFI.

A quick search on Autotrader shows none below $94k. I did a nationwide search on manual 2010-2013 (997.2), coupes and cabs. There was one for $81 not too long ago but it was involved in a rear end collision.

not too many .2 coupes or cabs made in 6 speed either right?

Most people went for the S in those years and all were PDK.

Can you point me towards where you're finding these 2011 low mileage 6speed Turbos for low 80's please? They're becoming rarer and rarer to find on Autotrader and Cargurus.

I think there were 4 or 5 in the entire country. And the lower mileage PDK cars were mostly in the 85k - 100k+ range.

Majority of 997.2TT are PDK with some very small production numbers in 6speed, now looking for a cab with 6speed will narrowing your search even more. If you looking for 997.2TT, I would rather get the top of the line TTS cab and forget about 6speed. I saw a white TTS Cab on the road and I am drooling all over it. That's a sexy, beautiful car.
