interest check: Shure E4c

I just got brand new Shure E4c in ear monitors. I don't know if I should open them just yet....if someone throws me a good offer I won't even open them.

Retail is 299 IIRC

I tried the e3c and the e5c and am sure that shure (haha) is awesome at making great IEMs.

I'll prolly reconsider by the night's end....

open to offers of random things

hah

Almost went of for those but bought the Bose QC2 instead. I think I would explore the e5c once the bose die or go out of warranty. Do you have any experience with them?

no offense...but buying bose is like buying a cavalier on this forum

im sorry...I can put bose speakers together with 20 dollars and a visit to radio shack.

However....

I've had over a month of e5c (everyday) experience. They are very very fun to use and have more bass than any unamped headphone under $500ish

the dual driver setup with a passive crossover really shines.

The e4cs are not as bassy but have a cleaner mid and upper section (frequency wise)...and they are more forgiving of mp3s than...lets say Etymotic and Westone products (sold my etymotic er4 recently...very accurate but i had to re-encode all my cds)

the only reason im thinking about selling is so I can pick up the charcoal ones (I have the white ones)

anyway

yeah

plus... any IEM with provide MUCH MUCH MUCH more isolation than a noise canceling headphone....granted....grados and HD580,600,650 and beyer and akg make better sounding headphones...but those are more expensive and cannot be driven well with the tiny amps that our mp3 players have....

they world of hifi headphones is huge.... IEMs is the closest way to get to the higher tier sounds without spending silly amounts of money

Thanks for the education. I like my bose pretty well at this point but will certainly rethink things now. I cant remember exactly why I picked up the bose before. I think it was an impulse buy. What is the best place to pick up the e5c's?

heh...thats a tough one.... most places dont carry them

www.headphone.com is always an option if they have a promotion going on.

www.headfi.com is an awesome awesome forum full of great people...I get my stuff there. Once in a while people will sell unopened things...as well as rare and uber cool gear in general

the motto is: Welcome to headfi, sorry about your wallet
