Just.... Damn.

Mid 11's from 3500lb and less than 500 HP? Someone's sandbagging, methinks.

Wow! This would be the first that I've heard of an automatic being faster than a manual! But still, I don't think I could possibly live with an automatic sports car! Seems like sacrilege!

That is really hard to believe that the Tip will be that much faster... How much more will the Tip weigh?

It is hard to believe that the tip is faster. I think the gearing might be different, but do you think the top speed will be the same even though it says 193 and doesn't specify.

Tiptronic cars are traditionally slower. If it was the dual-clutch version Porsche is said to be preparing I would find it normal but it seems wierd.

Not to sound like a pessimest, but those specs are VERY dissapointing and says much more about the new car than any "hype"

--- Kevin

...I'm sure faster spooling turbo's will help "mask" the heft but on the track you simply cannot run away from the truth/mass.....that kinda mass will kill it's potential of ever being a "serious" track car....I think the new 997 GT3 is a FAR better buy for the $$$ and I'm glad they're still producing "passion" (unless luxury, heated seats, cup holders, vibrating *** bolsters, etc. is what you're looking for in a "sportscar" lol...which for THIS country, the $130+K demographic wants exactly that...for the most part...hence the marketing failure of the GT2*)

To kind of put in perspective, the new VW GLI (Jetta) DSG tip is faster than the manual. I'm guessing this will be the same case with the new turbo.
