206.5mph! BHT Takes the 6 Speed 1/2 Mile World Record
Coming off a strong TX2K19 showing (trapping 186mph in the roll race competition), I decided at the last minute to go to the Texas Mile and attempt to break Prodigy's 1/2 record in a 6 speed manual. I knew i only had ONE chance as there was a long delay due to fog and I needed to get home that night. 4 hours after gridding up I was able to make my run. After traction loss in 2nd and 3rd, she finally hooked and took the RWD GT3 to 206.5mph in the half mile. Then I coasted to 160mph in the mile. Super happy to have the car finally sorted thanks to Steve Ott at Driversource Houston, Wayne Potts on the Syvecs tune, Bill Rader who builds THE best gearboxes and John Bray who builds killer motors.
Thanks guys. Pretty wild what these cars can do in the half mile now!
I remember when we first met in person at Texas Mile years ago and how people at the starting line were cheering for cars breaking 200MPH on the Mile and how few cars actually broke 200MPH. Now its whole different game.
