Like many of you, I experienced spoiler hydraulic problems. Actually, my hydraulics had been replaced under warranty a number of years ago. Earlier this year I noticed that the left side of the spoiler didn't go up as much as the right. I tried stuffing a pillow in between the spoiler blades to see if it would hold it up after leaving the pillow there for some time but it didn't have much effect. There was no error light because it was the driver side of the hydraulics. I learned afterward that the passenger side has the sensor switches to tell if the spoiler is going up or not.
Basically there are a few options available:
replace with oem hydraulics - mucho $$$$ and will likely fail again
replace with electric option a la forum member here - good option but a bit on the $$ side for me
program out the adjustable spoiler so it just stays fixed - good if you want the spoiler in the down position permanently. Not me!
I recalled a previous thread where there was a fixed wing option for pretty cheap. It was version 1 of the EBWerks fixed mount and in order to avoid the dash light warning you had to cut and splice some wiring which didn't appeal to me. Next up was version 2 of the EBWerks fixed mount with more adjustments and of course a higher price, lol. But the big plus with v2 was that EB would send you a Durametric Pro cable (you pay the deposit which you get back when you return it) to program the wing to fixed position.
I reached out to EBWerks and didn't hear anything. Some forum scuttlebutt suggested that he moved to Japan but just before I made a trip to the US I reached out to him again and he replied and we made a deal. He shipped the package to New Hampshire where I was visiting. Communication by email was a little spotty and I was a little nervous but the package got there in time for me to pick up.
I had the same problem and explored the same options, but finally decided to take the plunge and purchased the Rennkit Eram 3" kit. It performs exactly like the OEM unit. granted it is a bit pricey, but I am very happy with this kit, and I expect it to be far more reliable than the stock hydraulics. Just passing this on for your info in case you feel the need to change sometime down the road. No affiliation by the way.
Please let us know how high you are able to get the wing! The height of the Rennkit Eram 4 3/4 looks amazing but I hate how skinny the shafts are.I love the idea, looks and price of the EBWerks fixed wing.

The fit and finish of the parts seemed decent. Only problem I faced was that one of the mounting bolts was missing. Home Depot etc didnt have anything that would work. Ebwerks wasnt responding to my emails and there was no working phone number. I returned the durametric pro cable after programming out the spoiler function. Thankfully my refund was processed right away with no issues. With the reprogramming the spoiler button has no effect any more which was nice. I read that some solutions give an error message when the button is pushed.
I went to a few fastener stores and they had something similar but not exactly the same and only in a 25pack bag which I didnt need. The specific grade of the fastener is "food grade" stainless steel, lol.
Fastenal says it only sells to contractors but the guy did me a solid and ordered a single bolt for me and it was less than a dollar.
pics coming soon....
Yeah that's why I posted it, just so potential buyers would understand that the transaction wasn't flawless. I'm happy with the purchase and everything worked out, but it wasn't painless and it should have been...
Hopefully he sorts out his issues and things improve.

I have my spoiler so that it is about an inch higher than the "up" position of the stock setup. Here's a pic showing how much space is left on the mounting post to raise it further...I estimate at least another 2 inches above the normal "up" position.
First step is to remove the spoiler blade with the spoiler in the "up" position.
I have the Cargraphic carbon fibre wing. I taped around the post but even then I managed to scuff the paint. Luckily I had the touch-up pen to
take care of it.
