DB9 camera/display screen does not fold on selecting forward gear
DB9 camera/display screen does not fold on selecting forward gear
My Nav/backup display work just fine, however after a recent replacement of passenger door module (due to instrument cluster failures), the backup/nav display no longer folds down when selecting a forward gear. It opens and closes normally upon engine start and stop, but it used to fold down after moving in reverse and then selecting a forward gear. Wondering if this is a setting i can control or if something else is root cause, Any ideas?

It's a 2013, when starting it would remain closed. Then when selecting reverse it would open automatically and display rear camera view. After selecting forward gear, it would fold down flat. Now it opens when i start the car, it does display rear view when selecting reverse, but it does not close when selecting forward gear. Any thoughts?
Thanks for that useful info, however i can't find it in my manual (it's original from AM). I do see the screenshot you posted on pg 10.4-10.5 of my manual, but there's no mention of the setting you referred to. Sitting in the car, i also don't see that option when entering the 'car setting' menu either. My setting options are:
1. Mirror settings
2. Lock settings
3. Keep Sport mode
4. Light settings
5. Information
None of my 5 options drill down to the option you mention. I appreciate you taking the time to help, and deff any further suggestions you might have.

Interesting. I pulled that directly from the 2013 owners manual on Aston Martin's website, p5.19. I wish I had more help to offer, but I don't have any experience with the 13MY. If you had the door modules replaced they would've needed flashed and CCF learned to function properly which could only be done with an AMDS. Perhaps they also re-flashed the center console module or ICM and wiped out a setting related the reverse camera display control.

read the manual on navigation as well... as I recall the car can remember the navigation function and may open up the screen based on the nav setting.
I remember this as an issue when I first got my car...I never use navigation and had some issues getting thy darn screen to stop opening on start up

Thanks for the info, and yes i see that feature mentioned on page 5.19 as you stated. (It's much easier to find stuff like that on the digital version of the manual). We did send the door module to AM for flashing, so i think something went wrong there. I'll bring it back and have them take a look at it. Thanks again for your feedback!

On Page 10.6 of my manual, it says...
If the Navigation system is still active when the vehicle key is remove the system will shut down. When the vehicle key is inserted again and placed at position ‘I’ or ‘II’ the Navigation system will start up automatically.
I'd try to exit the nav system completely and then shut off the car completely... They try it again and see if the screen pops up.

AFAIK the screen can remain up even when then nav isn't running. After starting the car, press and hold (long press) the NAV button to lower the screen. It should stay down at the next start-up but will raise when you select reverse.
Follow-up on this topic...
While further testing I found navigation was turned on. Turns out, while navigation is active, the screen will always be raised. In addition if navigation is selected, the center stack control will operate the navigation screen as opposed to the radio and info screen located in the center stack. Turned navigation off using the center button, retested and the display panel folded down when i selected forward gear and reached 5 MPH as expected. When Nav is on, the panel remains raised. This is how it should. Thanks for your input on this.
