DB9 dashboard panels on either side of waterfall removal

I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find a resource on how to remove the two leather upholstered panels that run up either side of the waterfall and at the lower end contain the seat controls. I’ve check the workshop manual and scoured YouTube, Aston1936 and red pants have nearly every other panel inside covered except for these. I cannot even find an official name for them.

What I have seen in the videos is that there appears to be some screws behind the waterfall and under the center console piece, but I’m certain there are some snap-in clips somewhere and I don’t want to break anything. Has anyone removed these, seen a resource on how to, or have a photo of them removed?

I don't know what model year DB9 you have but go to https://www.scuderiacarparts.com/ and search for the "Instrumental Panel Center Stack". The following exemplary part number is for a 2011 DB9. 9G4355210ACW. From here you will see a picture of it disassembled. You'll be able to get an idea of the fastening points. I hope this helps.

I've had that piece out to repair the leather up near the windshield. It was quite a while ago, so I don't remember exactly how it was fastened, but I'm pretty sure it was just screws. You have to pull everything out to get to them though, including ski slope, satnav screen, and infotainment & controls. There is a video on YouTube where a guy replaces that part on his Vantage -- virtually identical to the DB9
. Here are some pics of my 2006 DB9 apart.

Did you do that alone?
That's a ballsy DIY there!

This is great, thank you! This is what I was anticipating but couldn’t get a really clear picture of. That’s exactly what I’m doing with mine, it appears to have come unglued for the last ~4” toward the windshield and the very tip might have split, it’s difficult to tell until I get it out.

I’m pulling and re-foaming/re-adhering the headliner at the same time, plus pulling the rear shelf because my third brake light is rattling against the window as it appears the little insulation pads have deteriorated. Basically the entire interior is going to become the exterior. I might have the windows including the front and rear windscreens tinted (clear/uv) while those panels are out, to make the tinters job easier. I’m just wrapping up drivetrain refreshments before I start on the interior.

Yes, alone in my home garage. I'm shaking my head as I look at the pictures now.

The worst part was dealing with the plugs at the bottom rear of the infotainment unit. Short wires made for bleeding knuckles and much frustration.

Can you please post how it went and if you were able to re-use your Alcantara.
I'm about to start the headliner repair on mine.
