Took my 2018 Vanquish S in for annual maintenance and was surprised that there was oil leaking into the cooling system. The techs could not identify the source of the leak, but best guess is it's a failed oil cooler. The tech did identify the issue as a failed oil cooler. There are no signs of coolant in the oil so that's a relief. The tech suggests a complete overhaul of the cooling system. Has anyone dealt with such a problem? I was surprised to see a similar chocolate shake even after multiple flushes but no driving.
This is what it looked like before it was flushed numerous times
After numerous flushes (water and solvent).

Engine oil pressure is higher than coolant pressure, so a cooler failure could make sense at first. Going to be an involved process to find the fault. Either remove the cooler and test it or bypass and keep flushing. Good thing is oil in the coolant can be flushed eventually.
A buddy of mine had bought a Timeless Certified 2017 Vanquish and had a similar problem shortly after purchasing the car. Aston (Morries Aston Martin on Minneapolis) at first said it was not a warranty item (early days of the 'Andy Palmer' era), but eventually did cover it under warranty. Not sure what they replaced or fixed, but he eventually sold the car primarily because of the way he was treated by the dealership and Morries have since stopped selling and servicing Astons. I'm working with Aston Martin to get a local Factory service center (hopefully soon).
ugh..don't get me started. The drama is just beginning as far as the level of service. This is how my vehicle was returned to me. They are the official Aston Martin Service center here in Dallas.
It's really too bad about your Aston Service and AM service in general.
I just had my DB11 in the St. Petersburg (Tampa) Aston dealership (Dimmitt) for Key Fob programming and, luckily, the service was very good. Of course they did very little other than hooking up AMDS. I waited while the service was being done and they got finished in about an hour. I also requested they NOT wash the car.
I hear so many stories (some here on this forum) about owners completely abandoning the car BC of terrible dealer service experiences.
I usually will do anything to avoid a service experience, but in this case I couldn't DIY.
