FS: Panasonic 50 Inch Plasma HDTV - AS NEW
FS: Panasonic 50 Inch Plasma HDTV - AS NEW
I have a Panasonic model# TH-50PX50U Plasma TV for sale. I bought this and put it into a guest room. It literally never got used. The internal hour meter shows ZERO hours, it has been on for under 1 hour total! Guest room is now being coverted for other use so the TV doesn't have a home.
I bought this new in April '06 and paid nearly $4k out the door for it, manufacturing date on the TV is January '06, about 8 months left on the warranty.
This TV has all of the latest features, HDMI input, CableCard slot, NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner, etc... Pansonic is generally regarded as having the best image quality in the consumer sets with the best black levels.
Price is $2,495 and pick-up is at my house in the San Jose, CA area.
** Please note when you price shop on the Web. For some reason the Web is full of complete scams and what boggles my mind is all of the reputable web sites (CNET, ZDNET, Pricegrabber, etc...) have prices listed from these scam operations. There are tons of websites that advertise this model for $2200 - $2500. The problem is NONE of these shops have the TV in stock and when you call them they will take your payment then days later will tell you they can't get it and will try to move you into a different model. You will never be able to get the TV advertised at the $2,200 because they don't exist. So, when you go to any site that shows the TV for this price, just go to Google and enter that websites name and the word 'scam' and see what comes up. **

I believe this model is being replaced by the TH-50PX60U for 2006.
Still your price is very low. Lowest I could get it for new would be $2880.

Panny makes the best value for the money in plasma. I had an Elite setup next to my new 9th gen commercial unit and the picture was every bit as good after calibrated, if not better on mine.
I just paid 3200 for my 50" commercial unit and it has less inputs then Michael's. Nice TV and a very fair price.

There are 2 downsides to the 60U however. The first is many think the new cabinet design is butt ulgy. The second is that to save money they stripped out features that the 50U has, such as the 60U doesn't even have a CableCard slot!

Just let me know! I will be selling off a few of my other plasma's soon, not sure which I want to get rid of right now.
Glad to hear you love the DLP, I was sad to see that TV go.
