Question How many % of the 997TT are Tiptronic?

How many % of the 997TT from the factory are Tiptronic?

Are there any official figures? Or your guess would be fine

Thanks!

That's what I heard too. In fact, it's been said that the only reason BMW finally stuck a manual into the M5 is to appease American buyers.

Manuals in UK are hard to sell, most are tips because most are for around the city and an older driver! I think it may be changing a bit with 997 as there is more wealth around but because the cars are so much more expensive here its often an older buyer who tend to prefer the Tip.
In the US the cars are so much more affordable to the younger driver who will likely prefer the manual.
997TT is about the same money in the US as a BMW X5 3.0 Diesel in the UK

The exchange rate is good but its not that good....a 997tt is 140k USD, which is about 70,000 pounds....just abit more than an X5 3.0.

erik the dsg stuff is neat... i have it in my audi but I just wonder how much torque it can take I think it will be the _least_ modable platform for the turbo, that's for sure...

Yes, I had DSG in my Audi as well. There's nothing better!

There's a Canadian company that upgraded the DSG in a TT, tested by R&T. It had a lot of torque...

Will have to check that out. The DSG is really something but for us turbo guys that want 700 and 800 foot pounds of torque.. KABOOOOM!
