ECU, key fob, memory unit

Where does data from mileage get stored into memory? I just disconnected my battery, and was just about to swap out my ECU for a flashed unit, when I realized that if the mileage is stored in three separate places, how do I prevent PIWIS from detecting a discrepency when I swap back?

Yeah, I remember one of the dealerships telling me the mileage is in fact stored in 3 places including the key fob. Can't recall the specifics. Good to find this out first though.

997turbo is the only car that stores the mileage in the Ecu unit..
All other Porsche cars stores the hours that you have used the car..
I dont know where else it stores the mileages except the Ecu...

No the mileage is not stored anywhere but in the cluster. The data stored in the ECU is hours run. No where in the PIWIS will you find a reading for mileage other than in the cluster.
<O
Some of these dealers are morons. Sheez. In the key fob? The Porsche system doesn’t even have a receiver in the fob. It is a transmitter. I also had a dealer here on the board no less tell someone that the LSD is activated on the dash....LOL. <O

My dealer told me that in 997tt ECU can also see and the mileage of my car. And He was surpriced because it is the only model that says except the hours run and the mileage...! (I will go tommorow to order something and I will try to make him saw me exactly what he means...)

Have him hook up the PIWIS and show in the ECU module that the mileage is in there. Like I said, the instrument cluster will show it in the PIWIS but that is not the same. The ECU does not store that type of data. Service writers and salesman at the dealers are the most uninformed group I have ever seen. Then second is the 80% of the dealer wrenches.
<O
The only reason I know about the mileage and hours is because I have a PIWIS and a TT so I can test these so called “stored” parameters. <O
