997TT Cupholders...?

OK so dont laugh but as an avid starbucks addict i am curious in regards to the cupholder situation. Random ? Yes, but as a daily driver it is something I must know. Where are they located and how are they. Sorry for this question but I have searched the forum and online and have found nothing and the Germans seem to always forget or lack in this area of convenience. Thanks a bunch!

if you look above the glovebox there is a panel (the trim will be silver, carbon fiber or wood) whatever your options maybe.. there is a tiny cup emblem..

push this and it will fold down revealing two fold out cup holders..

lol

might want to have you salesman spend a little more time with you showing you everything on the car..

Does the 997 use the same one's. The 996 cupholder is horrible. This new one looks better but does it hold super size cups?

Don't know about 996, but holder seems to be the same for all 997s and, incidentally, for the Cayman.

Not sure if you are joking, but it will def not hold a gigantic American-Style cup. Tapered high-capacity cups may fit, but the center of gravity will be well above the upper rim of the cup holder, so not very stable at all.

The center thing folds up after you push out the cupholders to look neat and clean

Porsche sells a nice stainless steel coffee mug that fits perfectly in the holder and the lid slides closed so you can't spill it when the car is bouncing around. About $30. Kinda looks like an exhaust pipe tip.

It works very well. I was driving pretty aggressively in Austria last spring with those water bottles in place and they never flew off!

But however, with a hot piping mug of coffee in place, I'd be inclined to drive much more conservatively!

i have used the cups in a 997 and they are decent. the good thing about them is that they adjust to the width of the cup so they do actually hold it even though on the bottom end of the cup. but as someone else said, i would still drive cautiously with a steaming cup of coffee next to me...
